Our First Summer Dive-In Movie at the Pool: Rookie of the Year - Friday, June 12th

Grab your floaties and friends and come join us for a movie night at the pool. We will be showing Rookie of the Year, a family favorite about a boy who hits the big league. We will open to pool about 8pm and begin the movie after it gets dark (probably around 8:30). If you are a pool member, feel free to come earlier! The HOA will have some drinks, but please feel free to bring your own snacks and drinks as well. Sit back and relax in your pool float, and enjoy the movie.

This is the first of three movies in our summer movie series. Be sure to mark your calendar for two other dive-in movie nights at the pool this summer:

  • July 10th - Honey I Shrunk the Kids
  • August 14th - School of Rock

Oak Hill Parkway Construction Update

Things are coming along with the construction, and man is it nice to have some of that freeway open! You can now use the entrance ramp east of 1826 to bypass the light at Convict Hill, and the ramps to 290 and 71 are now open as well. In our own hood, landscaping along Candelaria is nearly complete, with some final items to be done by end of June. For the widening of El Rey, CRC is planning that work in late summer, so we are hoping that it is complete before school starts back up again in August. We will keep you updated, but we are feeling good about getting some movement there. Sign up to receive updates HERE.

Once the project is complete, we will be focusing more heavily on getting a new entrance sign for the neighborhood!

Neighbor Spotlight

Hi neighbors! We’re Justin and Alicia Lowe, and we’re excited to officially introduce ourselves to the Granada Hills community.

We moved into the neighborhood in July of 2024, into a home that has been part of our family since 2014 when my parents first bought it. After my mom unexpectedly passed away on Thanksgiving morning in 2023, Alicia and I made the decision to move here to be closer to and help care for my dad. What started as a difficult chapter in our family’s story has turned into a meaningful new beginning and an even greater appreciation for this incredible neighborhood.

A little about us — I’m a partner at Land& Real Estate Brokerage and Property Management, where we help clients throughout Austin and Central Texas with buying, selling, investing, and managing their properties. Alicia is the Director of Stores for PAIGE Denim, LLC, overseeing retail operations for a brand she loves. Our favorite new roles, however, are being Mom and Dad to our 4-month-old daughter, Lottie Kaye, who has already brought so much joy (and plenty of walks around the neighborhood) into our lives.

We have quickly fallen in love with everything that makes Granada Hills so special — the large lots, beautiful tree-lined streets, quiet space, and the rare feeling of being tucked away while still having incredible access to Austin’s outdoor activities, restaurants, and everything this city has to offer.

You’ll often find us out walking with Lottie, spending time outside, meeting neighbors, or enjoying a slow evening at home. We’re grateful to be part of such a welcoming community and look forward to creating memories, building friendships, and contributing to the neighborhood for years to come.

See you around Granada Hills!

— Justin, Alicia & Lottie Kaye Lowe

Want to Sponsor the July 4th Celebration?

The Granada Hills Event Planning Committee is hard at work planning for our annual July 4th Celebration, and we'd love to make it the best ever. If you have a business and would like to sponsor the event, we are looking for support in the form of donations or service. Some opportunities for businesses to donate include:

1) Food served by the HOA (drinks, snacks and/or ice cream)

2) Prizes for the parade and pool games

3) Additional decorations for the event

We can recognize donations through a posted sign, but would like to steer away from any type of promotional hand-outs. Reach out to us at board@granadahillshoa.org if you'd like to help out!
