Peotone Junior High Parent Weekly

The time is almost here when we will open our doors at PJHS and welcome students and families for the 2025-2026 school year. We are excited to welcome all students to the new year and look forward to helping them learn and grow academically, socially, and emotionally. We have many exciting things planned for our students and we have a great staff to support them along the way. Thank you to the hard work and dedication of our custodial/maintenance staff, along with the summer crew. They did a wonderful job making sure the building is fresh, and ready to go when students arrive the first day of school.

At this time, we would like to remind families of a few things. First, please look below at any important dates that are coming up at the Junior High. On August 14th, we will have our PJHS supply night where students and families can pick up student schedules, drop off supplies, and get lockers ready. PJHS will also have their Open House night on August 26th from 6-7:30pm.

This year, student arrival will begin at 8am. Students will be let in the building at that time. The first day of school will be on August 21st for students and we will be following a common plan dismissal time of 1:40.

Please ensure that you are reading any important information that is included in the weekly parent communication in case there are any questions you might have about events, dates, etc.

8/14-PJHS Supply Night 3-7pm

8/18-Board of Education Meeting @ 6pm at Peotone High School

8/21-First Day of School for Students (Common Plan Dismissal @ 1:40pm)

8/26-PJHS Open House @ 6-7:30pm

9/1-Labor Day (No School)

Please look over the student handbook for all policies and procedures for Peotone Junior High.

Please refer to the Chromebook policy for PJHS students.

All students need a sports physical on file with the nurse's office if they plan to participate in a school sport. Students will not be allowed to try out or participate until we have a sports physical.

Sports physicals are good for 13 months.
