MTSS Lead Weekly Updates
Week of March 31
Grades 9-12
Time is running out for 9-12 Early Warning System
The Early Warning System for Grades 9-12 Spring Universal Screener began Tuesday, March 18 and ends this Friday, April 4. Please ensure that the identified students are screened in the identified area(s) sometime during this window as you have outlined on your spring schedule as outlined below.
- English (iReady Reading Diagnostic and Written Expression)
- Math (iReady Math Diagnostic)
- Both English and Math (iReady Reading Diagnostic, Written Expression, and iReady Math Diagnostic)
The iReady Diagnostics are now available. If you come across students who are unassigned, please confirm that they have completed the required screening during the window. The student may need to be assigned the iReady Diagnostic. If you experience challenges, please email Emily Vuoso (vuosoeb@scsk12.org) with the student name and id numbers.
Written Expression prompt options for Grades 9-12 identified students are available in the Written Expression Guidance documents found in the On Target for Success SharePoint Master Template folder or in the MTSS (RTI2A) folder in the Curriculum and Instruction SharePoint. Written Expression scores can be entered in the Written Expression PowerApp which is linked on the Home Page for the On Target for Success SharePoint. If you have difficulty accessing the score entry app, please email RTI2@scsk12.org.

3rd Grade ONLY aimsweb Benchmark FAQ
- When are the testing dates for MSCS? March 31-April 4
- Can the teacher of record administer? Teacher of Record cannot administer.
- Do all students have to take this? This is required for 3rd graders so they have a promotional pathway if they score approaching on the TCAP.
- What are the subtests that must be administered? Students must have Oral Reading Fluency (ORF), Vocabulary (VO), and Reading Comprehension (RC) to be considered as complete.
- What are the approximate times for each subtest?
- Oral Reading Fluency is approximately 2 minutes and is a digital record.
- Vocabulary is approximately 4-7 minutes and completed on TestNav.
- Reading Comprehension is approximately 15-25 minutes and completed on TestNav.
- How can I access a recording? The on-demand webinar provided by TDOE and Pearson is available if a refresher is needed. It is linked below.
- Where can I access the slide deck from our training? The slides were shared by the presenter and are linked below.
- Should I use TestNav or TestNav Tennessee? Please use the TestNav application from the Microsoft startup icon.
- Can students use their CleverSSO to access TestNav? No, please ticket the student in aimswebPlus and then the student should use those ticketed credentials to access the subtests through TestNav application.
- Is there a URL (link) that can be used to access TestNav? Please use this only if you experience issues with the TestNav application in the moment. The administrator should verify the results populated correctly using the student's ticketed credentials. https://aps.testnav.com/client/index.htmlCan students with read aloud accommodation in IEP/ILP get read aloud on the Comprehension part?
Can students with read aloud accommodation in IEP/ILP get read aloud on the Comprehension part? Because this is a universal screener, accommodation would have to be available to all students. Read aloud is not able to be used. Also, the accommodations such as text to speech features would have to be accessible for all students as a built-in feature within the platform. In aimsweb, Vocabulary offers a read aloud option, while reading comprehension does not. Students can click on the speaker icon anywhere that is visible as that is the built-in feature accessible for all.
💡 Reminders

Vendor Tickets
aimswebPlus

Ticket: The vendor has this with development. Please ensure that you maintain accurate records of student plans on the CSRS.
Dyslexia Resources
Made by Dyslexia is a resource that I came across in book form and learned after reading that there is a website offering resources. Please consider spotlighting some of the resources (for all ages) available at literacy events like the tip sheets or PPT slides as they raise awareness for dyslexia. I've also shared a link and graphic from www.nessy.com which offers free resources to support dyslexia awareness.
