REMINDER: GTA7 JA Finance Park 5/13
A Real-World Math-Based Field Experience
Wednesday, May 13, 2026
9:00 am - 2:00 pm
What is Junior Achievement Finance Park?
JA Finance Park is a middle school program that begins with in-class learning and culminates with a day-long visit to a realistic on-site simulation community where students are assigned a random life experience. Each student takes on a specific career, education, family size, credit score and student debt. They create and manage a monthly budget and are faced with making important financial decisions related to income, expenses, savings and credit through various life stages.
By the end of the JA Finance Park experience, students are able to:
- Create and manage a monthly budget.
- Navigate financial decisions through various life stages.
- Understand the financial consequences of life choices and decisions that impact long-term goals.
- Revisit their career goals to see if they will meet their needs for what they envision for their futures.
Curricular Alignment and Practical Applications
Not only is this field experience perfectly aligned with the end-of-year math curriculum, it is an immersive real-world math application experience. We are excited to bring students to this park where they will use math the way you and I do in our every day adult lives...to manage the financial requirements of day-to-day and month-to-month life! Students have already been working in their Junior Achievement workbooks focusing on personal financial planning and career exploration in preparation.
