The Trojan Triumph

From the Principal's Desk
We are almost halfway through the third quarter. Please continue checking on your student's grades and attendance. February is a busy month at the high school and students need to be here if they are able. We have started the scheduling process for next year. The juniors will be taking the state funded ACT this month and we will be offering the ASVAB as well. Not everything is about testing though! On February 20, we will have an assembly with a falconer.

Meet Mr. Hassel
Mr. Hassel is a dedicated educator and tech enthusiast hailing from Youngstown State University. With a heart full of adventure and a deep-seated passion for the great outdoors, he balances his role as a father to two energetic boys and their playful dog with weekends spent camping and backpacking. Mr. Hassel is committed to inspiring the next generation of innovators, guiding students through the exciting realms of engineering, robotics, aviation, and 3D printing. When he’s not fostering a love for learning in the classroom, you can find him geeked out over the latest tech trends.
ACT
The state funded ACT for all junior students will be held on February 25 in the middle school gymnasium. All students CHS, wether they are on campus or taking CCP course full time, are required to take the ACT. The Knox County Career Center will give the ACT to students who attend there. All juniors taking the ACT at Centerburg will need to do the pre-registration. This will take place during second period (9:11am) on February 18.
Congratulations to the FFA
The Centerburg chapter of the FFA did a wonderful job at the 2025 County Public Speaking contest. We had first place finishers in three of the four events. In Creed Speaking, Lydia Gribben placed first and Savannah Tabor placed second. In Extemporaneous Speaking, Gabi Wingert placed first. Jocelyn Tabor placed first in Beginning Prepared Public Speaking, and Chesnee Fairall placed second in Senior Prepared Public Speaking. These students will advance to the FFA District Public Speaking Contest. Congratulations ladies!
