Peterson's Message- K3 Director
Greetings MCP3 Team!
We have made it to the last week of Quarter 3- and the week before SPRING BREAK! I encourage you all to take a moment and reflect on how far your scholars and your classroom have come since August. Think about the high quality learning environment you have created so that scholars are engaged in learning, know RAPs like the back of their hand, and are set up to thrive each day! Reflect on the nurturing relationships you have created with each scholar and how you ensure each scholar feels safe and cared for every day they are in school! Now take a moment....pause....and give yourself a pat, pat, pat...on the back back back...for a job...well....done! Whoo hoo! Make sure to identify 2-3 incredible things that have made a positive impact on our scholars in the first 3 quarters!
Here are some important happenings and reminders:
MCP3 is hiring for an Educational Assistant
Help spread the word to your incredible networks. If you know of any individuals in the ECE field that want to work hard, believe in kids, and are mission aligned with MCP3- encourage them to apply online. The position will be posted soon!
WOYC- The Week of the Young Child is approaching!
Each April, the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) invites educators, families, and communities to come together for the Week of the Young Child® (WOYC)—a joyful celebration of early learning, young children, and the adults who support them. Through themed days like Music Monday, Tasty Tuesday, and Artsy Thursday, WOYC highlights the critical role of play, creativity, and collaboration in a child’s development. WOYC is April 11-17, 2026! This year is extra special as it is the 100th year of NAEYC and the 55th anniversary of Week of the Young Child.
MCP3 has enjoyed celebrating this week with a spirit week/themed attire, fun pre-planned activities that happen both inside the classroom as well as outside of the classroom as a school! Shout out to the Educational Assistants who helped to plan fun ways for us to celebrate this year. Be sure to review this planning document for MCP3 WOYC 26-27! ****I am awaiting approval from Dr. Cleveland for the themed attire days and will update the team accordingly.*****The leave your mark: Class of 2040 Tribute is still TBD. We will review the plan together at the Lead Teacher FAB collab on Tuesday.
