Eagle Press
Welcome Back!
Dear Edison Families,
We hope this letter finds you relaxed and ready for the new school year! On behalf of our entire staff I’d like to welcome our new and returning students to Edison Elementary for the 2026-2027 school year. Much preparation has gone into planning, classroom design, and ensuring a successful start to the new year. Our staff looks forward to welcoming our Eagles back so we can continue to pave the way to success. We hope the information below may address any questions you may have at this time.
Staff has given careful consideration to each child’s placement for this school year. By doing so we have created classrooms that are balanced both academically and socially to help ensure each child’s success. Student placement letters will be emailed to families on August 26th.
The first day of school will be on Monday, August 31st. This is a half day and we begin at 8:30 am. No lunch or snacks will be served. I’ve attached door assignments below so your child will know where to line up daily. Please know staff will also be out front and visible to direct students as necessary this week. Y CARE is available to registered families on this day.
The Eagle Press will be published weekly and emailed home on Sundays. A list of important August/September dates may be found below in the meantime. .
In closing, please know the staff and I are here and look forward to partnering with you this year to ensure your child’s success! It is an honor and privilege to serve as your principal and I eagerly look forward to meeting each of you this year. Should you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to us at any time! We are so excited to see our school family!

Meet Mrs. Kelley
Hello, Edison Eagles!
My name is Jennifer Kelley, and I am so excited to join the Edison school community! I have been in education for 19 years, and I truly believe there is no better place to be than in a school surrounded by amazing students, families, and staff.
I began my career in Ferndale, teaching kindergarten and first grade. I then came to Fraser, where I taught kindergarten before becoming a Title I Coordinator. Most recently, I had the privilege of serving as the principal of Eisenhower Elementary for four years.
Outside of school, I am a proud mom of three and have been married for 14 years. My family is incredibly important to me, and I believe that same sense of family and belonging is what makes a school community so special.
I cannot wait to meet all of our Edison Eagles, their families, and our wonderful community members. I am looking forward to building relationships, celebrating our students, and working together to make this an amazing school year!

FIND YOUR CHILD’S BUS STOP ONLINE
Bus stop information will be available online for the 2026–2027 school year. You can access your child’s bus stop information by visiting www.fraser.k12.mi.us. Click on the TRANSPORTATION link.
Students will be assigned a route number in lieu of a bus number. The route number is located on the left side of the entry door. To ensure transportation, all students must be at their bus stop 10 minutes prior to the scheduled arrival time.
Please review with your child the bus rules found on the Transportation Department’s website.
