Hey Seniors!
We hope you're having a wonderful summer! As the school year approaches and college application season begins to pick up, we wanted to let you know about an upcoming opportunity. Please save-the-date for our College Application Workshop on Monday, August 24, from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm in LMC South.
During the workshop, we will:
- Review the college application process and key deadlines
- Share essay tips and writing support with Ms. Trainor
- Provide dedicated time to work on applications
- Answer individual questions and offer one-on-one support
If you plan to attend, please complete the Workshop Attendance Form so we know how many students to expect.
If you can't attend, we'll share the presentation slides afterward, and know that we are always available for individual support. We'll also offer optional College Application Lunch Workshops throughout the fall. Additionally, here is the junior conference materials packet that was shared last school year. It contains all things you need to know about the college application process, post-secondary planning, and beyond.
We hope to see you on August 24th! Enjoy the rest of your summer.
Thanks all,

IMPORTANT GRADUATION INFORMATION
Welcome Midwest Scholastic to the SHS Family!
We are excited to share an important update regarding our graduation ordering process!
Moving forward, our school is transitioning away from Jostens and officially partnering with Midwest Scholastic, a trusted local Wisconsin business. Through this new partnership, we are able to provide our families with the same high-quality graduation products—including caps, gowns, stoles, and tassels—at significantly lower prices.
We are thrilled to support a local company while also reducing costs for our graduating class.
What’s Next?
More detailed information regarding how and when to order caps, gowns, stoles, and tassels for the upcoming graduation season will be shared soon. Please keep an eye out for future communications!
Direct Admit Wisconsin
Please be on the lookout Saturday, August 1 for an email from the Universities of Wisconsin (it will be in your school inbox--you will also receive something in the mail a week or so after). This email will detail which UW schools you have been automatically admitted to. If you plan to potentially attend one of these schools, you simply need to fill out their direct admit form (should take only 10 minutes)--this does not lock you into attending, something you won't need to decide until May 1, 2027. If you do have questions, please reach out or stop in to the college workshop we will be having on August 24th.
If you do not receive an email, you can still apply to various UW schools via their application! https://apply.wisconsin.edu/
Below is some information from the Direct Admit program:
Eligible students submitted by high schools in the summer window will receive their Direct Admit Wisconsin offers on Saturday, August 1, via their high school email address. An admissions offer packet will follow in the mail by mid-August. Starting August 1, students with offers can complete the Direct Admit Form in the Universities of Wisconsin Admission Pathway Portal. Completing the Direct Admit Form notifies UWs that made admissions offers that students are interested and want to learn more. Resources to assist students include a Direct Admit Form walkthrough and other how-to videos, and a video and next steps checklist for directly admitted students. In addition, troubleshooting tips for students completing the Direct Admit form will be posted to Go Wisconsin Resources and Tools under “Prepare for College and the UW Admissions Process” by August 1. If students need help completing the form or have questions, they can contact Go Wisconsin/Admission Help, which will be available special hours from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, August 1.
Questions? Please reach out to your school counselor.
