CES Happenings
Dear CES Family,
Well, I'm stunned once again by the generosity of your support during our Jog-A-Thon. While the total is not yet finalized, I can tell you that it is north of $10,000. Incredible. This will do a lot of good for all of our kids this year and into the future. Thank you so much.
Two big reminders for next week:
- We have minimum days every days every day next week. TK is out at it's normal time of 12:00, K Kindergarten is out at 12:50 and grades 1-6 are out at 1:00.
- Wednesday, October 1, 2025, Chester Jr./Sr. High School will participate in a multi-agency Active Shooter Full-Scale Exercise, coordinated with law enforcement, emergency medical services, fire departments, Seneca Healthcare District, and other community partners. Other details from the CJSHS Principal Mrs. Orange: "The exercise will run from 12:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and is closed to the public. For safety, please stay away from the campus and designated areas during the drill. This important training allows our community to test and strengthen our emergency response systems. We appreciate your support in ensuring the safety and preparedness of our students, staff, and community partners. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding."
Have a great weekend.
Sincerely,
Scott Cory

Guidelines for Student Illness
We love having your kids at school and really want to see them on campus every day! That being said, sickness happens and there are times when it's best for students to stay home . The image included with this article was created for PUSD staff and families in order to provide criteria for when it's OK to be and school and when it's better to stay home (click on the image to access and download it). We hope that you find this helpful. Please don't hesitate to contact our school nurse, Jessica Logan, via email (the easiest way to make contact) at jlogan@pcoe.k12.ca.us with any questions you may have about this or other things like medications at school.
