Message from the Superintendent

Dear Moreno Valley Unified School District Community,

This week, we recognize Yellow Ribbon Suicide Awareness and Prevention Week, a time to come together as a community to raise awareness, provide hope, and strengthen our support for one another. The safety and well-being of our students and staff is our top priority, and together we can make a difference by fostering an environment where everyone feels seen, valued, and supported.

It is important that we all understand the warning signs that someone may be in crisis. These can include withdrawal from friends or activities, changes in mood or behavior, loss of interest in school, giving away personal belongings, or talking about feeling hopeless or like a burden. Recognizing these signs can be the first step in connecting someone to the help they need.

If you or someone you know is struggling, please remember: you are not alone. Support is available, and reaching out can save lives.

Thank you for joining us in this important effort. Together, we can foster hope, healing, and a stronger sense of belonging for all.

With care and commitment,

Dr. Alejandro Ruvalcaba
