A Message From ITS - Technology Integration:
End of the Year File Management
For staff not returning in the fall due to retirement or getting out of education in general, here is a link to a step-by-step for you to “pack up” your files and take them with you. Here is an updated video tutorial on Google Takeout as well. Part of the Google Takeout process may include using Zipped (compressed) files. If you don’t know how to work with Zipped files, please see this quick tutorial. Note, for seniors graduating and wanting to take all of their files, this will work as well for them.
Lastly, if you have fellow staff members relying on files in YOUR Google Drive, once you leave the SD K12 system, your Drive’s files and folders will be erased. Please make sure your colleagues are not left without important files, this includes Google Sites. We recommend that shared files are utilized in a Shared Drive (not a shared folder in your personal Drive). Additionally, if you are the full manager of a Google Shared Drive, please ensure someone else has the same management rights as you added before you leave. If you feel like you need further assistance before you leave, please do not hesitate to reach out to chris.martin@k12.sd.us.
Have a great end of the year and a fun summer!
The Sioux Falls School Board election is coming up on Tuesday, May 13, 2025
Four candidates are running for two open seats: Elizabeth Duffy, incumbent Nan Kelly, Patricia Ringold, and Thomas Werner. Current School Board President Carly Reiter will not seek reelection.
If you were unable to attend the Sioux Falls School Board Candidate Forum last week, you can watch a replay of it here!
Polls will be open on May 13 from 7 AM to 7 PM
Voters who reside within the Sioux Falls School District may cast their ballot at any one of the 13 votes centers.
Please help us spread the word about ElectioN Day to your family, friends, and neighbors and remind them how important local elections are to our community!
Happening TOMORROW! (5/6) Tickets can still be purchased at the door.
The Jefferson Symphonic Band is teaming up with the Dallas Brass for a special concert on Tuesday, May 6 at Jefferson High School!
This unique performance will take audiences on a musical journey through American history, featuring everything from Dixieland and Swing to Broadway and Patriotic favorites.
Even better, one of the Dallas Brass trumpet players, Luis Cardenas Casillas, is a 2009 Roosevelt High School graduate!
PBL Summer Institute Reminder
The Project Based Learning Summer Institute will be held on Monday, July 28th, through Thursday, July 31st, (8:00 am - 1:30 pm) each day at Jefferson High School. This is a great opportunity to learn how to create a project your students will enjoy. If you are looking for renewal hours or affordable graduate credit this is a fantastic opportunity to gain either! Now that we are closer to summer it is time to think about enriching our own professional development.
Participants will leave with a standards-rich, collaborative project that will engage students in rigorous, relevant learning. The PBL Summer Institute is open to all teachers and administrators grades K – 12. Come think, struggle, learn (and have FUN!) with the PBL Academy staff and grow your project facilitation skills. Registration information is linked below. As stated above, you may take this district approved course for continuing education units or for graduate credit through the University of South Dakota.
