Lunch with Someone Grand
Home Connection of the Week
Use this question each week to engage your student at home with the learning that your is doing at school.
Kindergarten - Who are the characters in the story? What is the setting of the story?
1st Grade - What would it be like if we did not have maps?
2nd Grade - Go on a 3D shape hunt. See if your child can identify a real life object that resembles a sphere, cylinder, cone, cube, pyramid, and rectangular prism. Write these down and bring them back to school for a special treat from your teacher! :)
3rd Grade - Read a story. Who are the characters? What is the setting? What is the problem and solution?
4th Grade - Read a story. How did the character change from the beginning to the end of the story?
5th Grade - Take a look at the sky each night. What do you notice? What do you wonder?

Week 9: Handwashing & Germ Prevention "Stop Germs in Their Tracks"
Flu season is approaching, and handwashing is one of the easiest ways to stay healthy. Remind students to wash their hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds—especially after using the restroom, before eating, and after recess. Help them cover sneezes and coughs with a tissue or elbow, and to avoid touching their face. Healthy habits help protect our whole school community!
