An educational experience with a dash of creativity was on the menu for Spring ISD students who participated in Spring ISD Child Nutrition's “You Art What You Eat” competition in September. The promotion encouraged students to use their creativity and imagination to draw their favorite meals and show what family means through food, illustrating how sharing meals with family brings people together, creates special memories, and celebrates love and culture.

Individual winners from each school received a prize, but the winning class selected by the Child Nutrition office won a pizza party! The little bears over at Beneke Elementary School took the “W”, scarfed down some yummy pizza, and had a great time.

Awesome job, kids!

Nearly 500 Spring ISD educators traded sleeping in on a Saturday for a morning of learning when they showed up at Carl Wunsche Sr. High School on Saturday, Oct. 24 for the fall Learning Fair, where there were 100 professional learning sessions offered, specifically designed to strengthen instruction and improve student success.

These weekend warriors explored practical strategies in lesson planning, student progress monitoring, and student engagement while collaborating with colleagues and district specialists. The interactive sessions focused on making classrooms more efficient, identifying learning gaps, and incorporating new instructional tools. By applying these strategies in the classroom, teachers will be able to create a more enabling environment for students to learn.

Homecoming nights are so nice, Spring ISD did them twice!. The Dekaney High School Wildcats turned up the juice to shake a victory loose on their big night. They handily beat the Aldine MacArthur Generals, making homecoming night that much sweeter.

The crowd cheered on the team and of course the homecoming king and queen, Daquan Sampson and Z’kia McKinney.

Meanwhile, the Spring High School Lions also brought home the “W” on their big night against the Aldine Nimitz Cougars. There was so much excitement in the air, the Lions weren’t the only ones roaring. The crowd was on their feet bringing the noise for the homecoming king and queen, Tai Dean Shores and Mayte Valdez.

This was a big night for Spring ISD!
