Dear Proviso Families,

I want to share important details about our upcoming Parent/Teacher Conferences scheduled for Thursday, October 23, 2025. This will be a half-day for students, who will attend school from 8:00 a.m. – 11:15 a.m. with classes for Periods 1, 2, 7, and 8 only. Breakfast will be served, but lunch will not be available.

Conferences will be held in person on campus from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m., and for the first time this year, we are also offering a virtual-only evening option from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. Additional information about the virtual sign-up process will be sent to parents soon.

We look forward to connecting with you and discussing your student’s progress!

Quiero compartir detalles importantes sobre nuestras próximas Conferencias de Padres y Maestros, programadas para el jueves 23 de octubre de 2025. Parent Engagement Coordinators Ms. Gail Hibbler and Ms. Cori Hobbs recently met with Vanessa Schmitt, District 209 McKinney-Vento Liaison, to receive essential supplies from West 40 for students facing challenges securing a permanent living arrangement. With the support of Ms. Pat Bradley, West Cook McKinney-Vento Liaison, backpacks filled with school supplies, suitcases, and hygiene kits were distributed to all three schools. In the coming weeks, a family meeting will be held to help parents and students understand their rights and available accommodations under the McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act.

Las Coordinadoras de Participación de los Padres, la Sra. Gail Hibbler y la Sra. Cori Hobbs, se reunieron recientemente con Vanessa Schmitt, enlace McKinney-Vento del Distrito 209, para recibir suministros esenciales de West 40 para estudiantes que enfrentan dificultades para asegurar un lugar de vivienda permanente. Proviso Township High Schools District 209 is investing in creating more engaging learning environments this school year through the launch of its Classroom Decoration Reimbursement Program. A total of 57 teachers districtwide participated in the initiative, which provided up to $250 per teacher to purchase non-curricular items designed to enhance the look, feel, and functionality of their classrooms. Teachers had three weeks to make purchases and submit receipts, with the reimbursement deadline set for Sept. 8. The program is part of D209’s ongoing effort to foster positive, inspiring spaces for students to learn and grow. Teachers could use the reimbursement for items such as wall art, posters, plants, lighting, curtains, rugs, seating enhancements, or organizational tools. Through the Classroom Decoration Reimbursement Program, D209 continues its commitment to supporting teachers while creating vibrant learning environments where students can thrive.

El Distrito de Escuelas Secundarias de Proviso Township 209 está invirtiendo en la creación de entornos de aprendizaje más atractivos este año escolar mediante el lanzamiento de su Programa de Reembolso para Decoración de Aulas. Un total de 57 maestros de todo el distrito participaron en la iniciativa, que proporcionó hasta $250 por maestro para comprar artículos no curriculares diseñados para mejorar la apariencia, el ambiente y la funcionalidad de sus aulas. Los maestros tuvieron tres semanas para realizar compras y enviar los recibos, con la fecha límite de reembolso establecida para el 8 de septiembre. El programa es parte del esfuerzo continuo de D209 para fomentar espacios positivos e inspiradores donde los estudiantes puedan aprender y crecer.
