Bobcats Working Together!

🍂 Welcome Back! 🍂

Welcome back, parents and families! We hope you had a wonderful, restful, and enjoyable Fall Break.

✅Reminder students don't return until October 13th. October 12th is a teacher professional development/workday.

As we begin the second half of the semester, things will move quickly, and we have many exciting learning opportunities and events ahead. 🚀📚 Please keep in mind that there are several scheduled breaks between now and the end of the semester, making consistent attendance more important than ever.

✅ Every school day matters! When students are present, they benefit from valuable instruction, classroom discussions, and learning experiences that support their academic growth and success. For our students in grades 3-5, interim assessments are also approaching, and being in school each day will help them feel prepared, confident, and successful. 📝⭐

We are also looking forward to several special community events, including 🎃 Fall Festival, 🌎 Culture Night, and many other opportunities to celebrate, learn, and connect as a school family.

🤝

Thank you for your partnership and commitment to your child's success. Together, we can ensure our students make the most of every learning opportunity and continue growing both academically and socially.🖤💛

💙 Every Student. Every Day. Matters. 💙

We look forward to seeing our students at school each day, ready to learn, grow, and thrive! 🍎🏫

Dear Bobcat Families,

As we move through another exciting school year, I want to thank you for your continued partnership and support. Together, we can ensure that our little bobcats have the opportunity to succeed. 🤝📚

One of the most important ways you can support your child's success is by ensuring they attend school every day, on time, and ready to learn. ⏰✅ Regular attendance and arriving on time helps them stay connected to their learning, build positive habits, and achieve academic success. 🎓📖

It has been wonderful to visit classrooms and see the incredible learning taking place across our campus! 🌟 I am so proud of our little bobcats seeing them actively engaged, collaborating with their friends, asking questions, and showing excitement about learning each day. 📚🙌 Seeing our little Bobcats grow in confidence and achievement is amazing! 🐾🖤💛

I would also like to extend a warm Bobcat welcome to two new members of our school family: 🍎 Mrs. Pedigo, our new 3rd Grade Teacher, and 🧹 Mrs. Luna, our new Head Custodian.

Please join me in welcoming them to our campus! 🎉👏

Thank you for your continued support, encouragement, and commitment to our students. Together, we will continue creating a positive learning environment where every Bobcat can learn! 🐾⭐

90% Attendance Rule/What it means for the 2026-2027 school year.

El Paso ISD 90% attendance requirement will be in effect for the 2026-27 school year.

Students must attend at least 90% of the school days or class periods in order to receive course credit or a final grade, as required by Texas law.

For Elementary students, missing more than 17 days during a typical school year may affect whether they automatically can earn credit or a final grade.

In middle and high school, attendance is tracked by individual class periods each semester, so repeatedly missing the same class can become an issue even if a student attends school the rest of the day. In middle school, missing a class more than 8 times in the Fall semester or more than 9 times in spring semester will result in loss of credit. In high school as students are on an A/B schedule, missing a class more than 4 times in a semester will result in loss of credit.

If you have any questions or for further information please contact your campus.

📚✨ Building Strong Readers, One Word at a Time! ✨📚

Dear Bobcat Families, 🐾💛🖤

One of the most important ways children become stronger readers is by developing a rich vocabulary. 📖 Vocabulary refers to all the words a child understands and uses. The more words children know, the easier it becomes for them to understand books, express their ideas, and learn new information across all subjects. 🌟

🏡 Build Vocabulary Through Everyday Conversations!

You can help build your child's vocabulary through everyday conversations. 🗣️ While cooking dinner 🍳, shopping 🛒, riding in the car 🚗, or playing outside 🌳, introduce new words and talk about what they mean.

For example, instead of saying something is "big," you might use words like gigantic, enormous, or massive. Explain the meaning and encourage your child to use the word in a sentence. 💬

📖 Make Reading Time a Vocabulary Adventure!

When reading together, stop and discuss interesting words. Ask:

  • 🤔 What do you think that word means?

  • 💭 Have you heard that word before?

  • 🔍 Can you think of another word that means something similar?

  • 🗣️ Can you use that word when talking about something in your own life?

🌱 Little Conversations Lead to BIG Learning!

Our youngest learners benefit greatly from hearing adults talk and describe the world around them. Older students can challenge themselves to learn and use new vocabulary each week. 🎯

🌟 Every new word your child learns helps strengthen their reading, writing, speaking, and thinking skills!

Thank you for helping our Bobcats grow into confident readers and lifelong learners! 💛🖤

📚✨ Happy Reading and Learning!
