We’ve completed the first three days of school, and what a joyful start it has been! From the moment your children arrived on the Hilltop, the laughter, curiosity, and bright smiles have filled our classrooms with warmth and a sense of belonging.

It has been wonderful to see students settle in so quickly—hugging friends, exploring classrooms with confidence, and sharing snacks and stories together. One of the special moments that makes St. Luke’s feel like home is seeing siblings find each other in the hallways, the Parish Hall, or on the playground, sharing smiles, laughter, and little reunions throughout the day.

Here at St. Luke’s, we believe home is built together. As teachers and staff, we’ve greet each child by name, offer comforting words when emotions run high, and created spaces where they feel safe, loved, and truly known. We invite you, as parents, to join us in this beautiful work—partnering with us to make our school a place where every child feels they belong and can flourish.

With gratitude,

Iris Escandon

Making Morning Drop-Offs a Joyful Start

From early morning hugs to big smiles in the classroom, our hearts are overflowing with love and joy. As we begin this new school year, we are committed to nurturing your child’s growth, confidence, and safety every day.

Why Independent Walk-Ins Matter
One way to empower our Tiny Tigers is by encouraging them to walk to class on their own.

  • Builds Confidence – Children feel proud and accomplished when they navigate school independently.

  • Teaches Responsibility – Helps them manage time and take ownership of their daily routine.

  • Keeps Our Campus Safe – Limiting morning visitors ensures a secure environment for students and staff.

  • Staff Along the Way – SLES staff will guide and supervise students from drop-off to their classroom.

Making Drop-Off Smooth
We know mornings can set the tone for the day—especially with new routines, classrooms, and teachers. You’re not alone! A few small strategies can make drop-off a confident start for your child.

  1. Preview the Plan – Talk through the routine the night before and practice a quick “walk in.”

  2. Fill Their Cup – Share a few quiet minutes together before leaving home.

  3. Share Your Calm – Children mirror your emotions—show them confidence.

  4. Have a Goodbye Ritual – A hug, high five, or special handshake works best when it’s the same each day.

  5. Keep It Short – Warm goodbye, acknowledge feelings, and let teachers guide the transition.

We’re Your Partner
Drop-off is more than a logistical moment—it’s a chance to build independence and trust. Our teachers and staff are here to welcome your child with warmth, help them feel secure, and make every morning a joyful start.
