Welcome Back to #THEPACK!

Dear CHSM Families and Students,

Welcome to the 2026-2027 school year! I hope you have had a wonderful summer filled with opportunities to relax, recharge, and make lasting memories. As we prepare for another exciting year at CHSM, I want to extend a warm welcome to both our returning families and those who are joining our school community for the first time.

Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Brian Hutton, and I have the privilege of serving as the new principal at Complete High School Maize. I am truly honored to join this incredible school community and become part of #THEPACK. From the moment I arrived, I have been impressed by the dedication of our staff, the character of our students, and the support of our families. I am excited to partner with all of you as we work together to make this our best year yet.

As we get ready for the first day of school, please take a few moments to review the important dates and information below.

CHSM Open House & Parent-Teacher Conferences

We invite all students and families to visit our building, meet our outstanding staff, reconnect with friends, and get ready for a successful start to the school year.

Wednesday, August 12
6:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.

Thursday, August 13
7:30 a.m. – 3:15 p.m.

During these times, our teachers will be in their classrooms and available on a come-and-go basis to meet with students and families, answer questions, and help everyone feel prepared and confident for the new school year.

Parent Information Meeting

As part of our Wednesday Open House, we will serve dinner at 6:00 p.m. and host a Parent Information Meeting beginning at 6:30 p.m.

During this meeting, we will share important information about the upcoming school year, including new updates, procedures, expectations, and opportunities available to our students. This will also be a great chance to learn more about our vision for CHSM and how we can work together to help every student succeed.

We encourage all parents and guardians to attend if possible.

The start of a new school year is always an exciting time filled with fresh opportunities, new goals, and endless possibilities. We cannot wait to welcome everyone back into the building and begin another year of learning, growth, and success together.

Thank you for being an important part of the CHSM family. We look forward to seeing you at Open House and officially kicking off what promises to be an outstanding 2026-2027 school year.

Welcome back to #THEPACK.

Brian Hutton
Principal of CHSM

NURSE'S CORNER NURSE'S CORNER

Welcome to another fun school year!

My name is Erin Ingalls, and I am honored to be joining Complete High School as your new school nurse. I am very excited to get to know the students, staff, and families. I also am looking forward to helping keep our students healthy, safe, and ready to learn.

A little about me—I have been a nurse for nearly 20 years, with 10 of those years spent at Wesley Medical Center in Pediatrics and the past 10 years serving as a school nurse within USD 266 (previously at Maize Elementary School). I am thrilled to now be serving at Maize High School/Maize Complete High School. My husband, Casey, and I have two children: Easton, who is in 8th grade at Maize Middle School, and Kaylee, who is a senior at Maize High School. We also have two energetic dogs, Trixie and Roxie, who keep our family entertained! I look forward to partnering with you to support the health and well-being of your students throughout the school year.

As we begin the year, here are a few important reminders:

IMMUNIZATIONS:

Please make sure your student’s immunization records are current and submitted to the health office. If you have any questions regarding your student’s immunizations, please contact me.

  • Immunization Deadline: October 1, 2026

SKYWARD HEALTH HISTORY:

Parents/guardians are responsible for updating their student’s health information in Skyward and notifying the school nurse of any new or ongoing medical concerns throughout the school year.

MEDICATIONS AT SCHOOL:

Prescription Medications
Students who need medication administered during the school day must have a new medication authorization form completed each school year before any medication can be given. Please print the medication form, have the prescribing healthcare provider complete it, and return it to the nurse’s office along with the prescription medication. A parent or another adult must bring all prescription medications to school in their original labeled prescription bottle.

Inhalers, EpiPens, diabetic medications, and seizure medications
All require a signed medication authorization form. Parents may print the medication form and have their healthcare provider fax the required health plans to the school nurse. 2026 MEDICATION ADMINISTRATION FORM

Over-the-Counter Medications

Yes, your student may carry over-the-counter medications with a completed medication authorization form signed by a parent or guardian. 2026 OTC MEDICATION CONSENT FORM

School Stock Medications

Stock medications are available in the school nurse’s office. Parents may log in to their Skyward account, select Online Forms, and then click Over-the-Counter Medication Consent Forms. From there, select which over-the-counter medications you authorize the Nurse’s Office to administer. The nurse’s office is required to notify parents whenever a student receives one of these medications. 2026 OTC MEDICATION CONSENT FORM

FOOD ALLERGIES:

If your student requires meal modifications due to a food allergy, a Meal Modification Form (19B) must be completed and signed by both a parent/guardian and your student’s healthcare provider before changes can be made to school meals.

Please contact me if you need this form.

HEALTH SCREENINGS:

During the school year, all 10th-grade students and students who are new to the district will also receive hearing and vision screenings as required by Kansas state law.

These are basic screening tests and are not intended to replace professional evaluations. Results will only be sent home if additional follow-up is recommended.

If you would like to opt your student out of any screenings, please email me.

Thank you for helping us keep your students healthy and ready to succeed. Please don’t hesitate to stop by the health office, call, or email me with any questions or concerns. I look forward to meeting all of you!
