Cool Creek Connections

New school, new traditions, and one awesome principal! October is National Principals Month, and we're taking the opportunity to celebrate our very own Mr. Andy Hilton.

As the first-ever principal of Cool Creek Elementary School, Mr. Hilton has taken on the exciting adventure of opening a brand-new school. From bringing our staff together to welcoming students and families, he's helped make Cool Creek feel like a school community from day one.

Whether he’s sharing a laugh with students, supporting staff, or tackling the unexpected, Mr. Hilton brings humor, patience, and genuine care to everything he does. From the classroom to the playground, he makes every day at Cool Creek brighter!

Happy National Principals Month, Mr. Hilton!

We had another wonderful week at Cool Creek! As we head into Fall Break, we hope all of our Cool Creek families enjoy some well deserved time to relax, recharge, and make special memories together. Wishing everyone a safe, restful, and fun-filled break! We look forward to welcoming our Critters back in a week!

The Indiana State Museum is offering exciting day camps for students in kindergarten through 6th grade, October 12–23! Campers can explore science, art, engineering, and more through hands-on activities. There's something for every curious learner!

The City of Westfield is accepting entries for its Veterans Day Poster, Poem & Essay Contest. Students who live in Westfield or Washington Township are invited to participate and help honor our veterans. Entries are due October 30.

Join us on October 28th from 6-8 pm for a frighteningly fun evening of Halloween-themed STEM activities! You can expect spooky science demos, hands on experiments, and more fun! There's something for every curious kid (and adult)! Costumes are welcome! The event is at Westfield High School. Enter door 1. See you there!

A quick reminder for families: Please communicate attendance information or dismissal changes directly to the school office through TalkingPoints or by phone.

While you are welcome to keep your child’s teacher informed, please don’t rely on a message sent only to the teacher. Teachers may not see messages during the school day, and if a substitute is in the classroom, the message may not be seen at all.

Whenever possible, please send dismissal changes by 1:30 p.m. Changes received too close to the end of the school day can make it difficult to ensure the correct information reaches everyone and may lead to errors.

Our goal is to help you and your student the best we can! Communicating directly with the office and sending changes early helps us maintain accurate records and ensures students get where they need to be at dismissal.

Thank you for helping us keep everyone informed and our students safe!

If you think you may want to volunteer, help with a classroom party, join your child for lunch, or chaperone a field trip this year, now is a great time to complete your background check.

Westfield Washington Schools uses SafeVisitor for visitor management and background checks. Because the approval process can take 3–6 business days, completing your background check now will help ensure you're ready when an opportunity comes up. The $12.95 background check is valid for four years and can be used at any WWS school.

Don't wait until the field trip permission slip comes home—check this one off your back-to-school list now!
