WCES Staffing Updates
We are excited to share some important staffing updates as we continue to grow and meet the needs of our students!
We recently welcomed Julie Hodo to our kindergarten team. Ms. Hodo transferred from Oakley Elementary School, another Fulton County school, and officially opened her kindergarten class just last week. We are thrilled to have her join our Wilson Creek family!
Looking ahead, we anticipate that Rachel Pritchett will be joining our fifth grade team next week. She will be opening her class very soon, and we are looking forward to the positive impact she will bring to our upper grades.
These additional staff members will help lower the student-teacher ratio in their respective grade levels, which ultimately means more individualized attention and increased support in the classroom—a win for both students and teachers!
In addition, we are actively interviewing for an open position in second grade as well as for a kindergarten paraprofessional. We are committed to finding the best possible candidates and will keep you informed every step of the way.
Thank you for your continued support as we work to ensure all students have the resources and instruction they need to thrive.

Car Pool Etiquette at WCES
CAR POOL REMINDERS
This past week we noticed multiple days in which cars arrived at the very end of carpool. As a reminder, at 7:37 we close the carpool line and begin directing cars to park. If you are directed to park your car then you need to walk your student across the street and to the front entry door. Once the carpool staff hears the bell ring, they will direct parents and students to go sign in at the front desk. School starts promptly at 7:40 – so we want the kids not only in the building, but in their classrooms ready to learn!
Pro Tip: If you have been directed to park then this means you should join the carpool line earlier! There are very few cars during the first 15 minutes of carpool, so please arrive early so that we can all get off to a great start for the school day. We appreciate your support!
And the winner for our WCES PTO Movie night is....
Progress Reports and Viewing Grades
The first progress report of the year will be available for viewing in Campus Parent on Friday, September 19th. This is a 4.5 progress report of the first semester. Please remember there are not many grades at this time of the year which can result in extreme grades (high or low). Course averages accumulate throughout the semester with the final grade coming at the end of the semester. As always, we encourage you to check Campus Parent frequently to review your child's grades.

Fulton County Attendance Reminder
ALL IN ON ATTENDANCE – Building Strong Routines
September is the perfect time to set consistent morning and bedtime routines that make school attendance a natural habit. Students who start the year strong are more likely to maintain excellent attendance all year long. Students who miss fewer than 5 days in the first semester are 3 times more likely to stay on track in reading and math. The late bell rings at 7:40am for elementary school. Students should be in their classroom ready to learn at that time.
