CVU Celebrations
September 25, 2026
Dear Community,
Our seniors kicked things off this morning with a beautiful Senior Sunrise (photos below), and what a showing! Not only did we have a great turnout, but the Class of 2027 also managed to enjoy the morning, have some fun, and leave zero—yes, ZERO—trash behind. You’re setting the tone for the rest of the student body: bring the spirit, have fun, take care of our school, and lead by example. Well done, Class of 2027! We’re looking forward to celebrating you throughout the year and watching you lead the way.
And you weren’t done yet! Some of our seniors made a very quick return to campus to welcome everyone to Red Out Friday. There were signs, music, hula hoops, big smiles, and plenty of school spirit. They were joined by members of Student Council and some special guests, helping get the entire school ready for the weekend ahead. And we’re just getting started!
We hope you ninth graders join us this afternoon for the 9th Grade BBQ and that everyone shows up for the school-wide Rally in the Valley! Tomorrow’s forecast is looking good for the full lineup of games, so check out the schedule below and make your plans. Spirit Day is always one of the best days of the year—a chance to show up, get loud, have some fun, and celebrate being part of this school community.
So, wear your red, bring your energy, cheer loudly, and let’s make this a Spirit Weekend to remember! Go Hawks!

Champlain Valley Union High School
Come cheer on your hometown athletes at CVU’s annual Spirit Day, a celebration of Redhawk pride featuring a full day of home games, fans and festivities!
Soccer, field hockey, volleyball and football games will take place throughout the day, while food trucks, concessions, music, face painting and a CVU merchandise booth will round out the festivities.
All are welcome!

Room rosters will be posted in house offices and four corners as well as emailed to all students on Wednesday 09/30.
Please read your email that was sent from the Direction Center on Wednesday 09/23 for important information.
There are practice exams through your Bluebook app on your school issued Chromebooks.
Eye Screening
We are fortunate to have the Lions Club come to CVU to offer eye screenings for 9th grade students on October 4th and 5th. They will be returning on October 13th to screen 12th grade students (location TBD).
The screening provides free, community-based vision checks to detect early signs of vision loss and eye conditions in children. The students simply look at the red light refractory camera and it takes a picture to examine the health and responsiveness of the eye.
Our focus is to screen 9th and 12th graders. However, if you have concerns about your student’s vision, they can stop by and get their eyes checked with seniors on the 13th.
If you have any further questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out to the CVU health office, 802-482-7185.
