A Note from the Principal
Day 112/180
It was nice settling back into the routine of a full week, after vacation and all the snow. Today Mrs. Scott hosted the JMS Meeting, which unofficially kicked off our Read-a-thon season before the official launch on Friday. In addition to introducing the JMS Reading Challenge, Professor BlueBeard revealed the results of several middle school challenges that have taken place since the last meeting, including the Coin Fundraiser Challenge and the points each house earned during this year’s Staff vs. Student Basketball Game. With only a few months left in the school year, the question remains: which house will come out on top?
The Read-a-thon will officially kick off on Friday during the JES assembly hosted by Mrs. Rajan. This year’s theme, Ride the Wave of Reading, promises to be an exciting one with great prizes, fun stunts, creative challenges, and if all goes well, a visit from the infamous Reading Pirate. Ultimately, our goal is simple. We hope this year’s Read-a-thon helps spark a genuine love of reading in all of our students. Please do your best to support your child’s reading goals as we ride the wave together. And of course, if a little fundraising happens along the way, that would be great, too! The Read-a-thon remains our PTO’s largest fundraiser and helps support so many wonderful opportunities for our students throughout the year.
Just a friendly reminder that next Tuesday is a half day (12:40 dismissal) as teachers will be participating in professional development. Also, all Jacobs Has Talent!!! audition forms are due next Thursday, March 12.
