Pink Elementary - July 2026
The Palominos Press: October 18, 2026
A Note from Ms. Hernandez
Dear Palominos Families, & Supporters!
It’s a big week in our community—it’s time for the Battle of the Berg! As proud members of the Blue Stampede, our Pink Elementary Palominos are cheering on the Lamar CHS Mustangs! We look forward to seeing our families show their spirit throughout the week as we celebrate this longtime community tradition.
In addition, I am proud of the learning, growth, and accomplishments happening across our campus. Our students and staff bring curiosity, creativity, and determination to their work each day, and your partnership helps make that progress possible.
Even as we celebrate and enjoy these big moments, I want to remind everyone that instruction remains our number one priority. The most important thing our Palominos can do each day is be at school, on time, and fully engaged in learning.
Attendance and tardies must remain a focus for our community. Our attendance continues to fall below our 95% goal, which means our Palominos are missing valuable instruction. Arriving late also means missing important learning and classroom routines that help students begin the day successfully. We need every family’s support in improving daily attendance and on-time arrivals. Please plan ahead, allow extra time for morning traffic, and help your child arrive ready for a full day of learning. Every instructional minute counts!
Thank you for supporting our students, our staff, and our school. Together, let’s make it another great week as we Expect Excellence and Achieve Greatness!
With Palomino Pride,
M. Hernandez
Expect Excellence. Achieve Greatness.
Important Safety Reminder: Student Dismissal
Keeping every Palomino safe requires everyone to follow our dismissal procedures. Students being picked up by a parent or guardian in a vehicle must be picked up through the car rider line at the back of the school. This process includes safety measures to verify that students are released to an authorized adult listed in Skyward.
Walker dismissal is for students who walk home. Students will not be released from the walker line or group to walk to a vehicle. Vehicles crowding walker areas create additional hazards for students who are walking and crossing streets.
If someone attempts to pick up a student in a vehicle from the walker line, the pickup will not be permitted. The student will be returned to campus and must be properly picked up and signed out by an authorized adult on the student’s emergency contact list in Skyward.
Protecting our students is our responsibility, and these procedures are essential to ensuring the safety of every Palomino. Thank you for your cooperation and partnership in keeping dismissal safe for all.

Every Day Counts: Third Grade Takes the Top Spot
🎉 Congratulations to 3rd Grade for being attendance H.E.R.O.s and earning the highest attendance of all grade levels this week! A special shout-out also goes to 4th Grade—both grade levels exceeded our 95% attendance goal!
As a campus, we continue to fall below our 95% goal, which means too many Palominos are missing valuable instructional time. We must do better. Please help us by ensuring your child is at school, on time, and ready to learn every day.
