Dear Monarch Global Academy Families,
As we count down to winter break, we are thrilled about the incredible teaching and learning happening in our classrooms. Our flag football team continues to play with determination, and our girls’ cheer squad is boosting morale and looking fantastic on the sidelines. We are also looking forward to our Winter Festival this Thursday. It will be an exciting event for the entire school community. We hope all families can join us!
As we approach the break, please continue collaborating with teachers to support your child’s success. One important way to do this is by checking your child’s Canvas page regularly. As a parent who uses Canvas myself, I set a weekly reminder to review my own children’s pages. This practice strengthens the home-school partnership, allows me to hold my children accountable, and fosters independence. It also helps me communicate effectively with teachers about grades and progress. Together, we can ensure every student is achieving and thriving.
A Serious Reminder About Car Loop Safety
Monarch Global Academy has consistently communicated the importance of following staff directions in the car loop to maintain safety and traffic flow. Unfortunately, we continue to see parents disregarding these directions, resulting in dangerous situations including close calls where students were nearly struck by vehicles.
When you allow your child to exit between cars, you are putting them in harm’s way. You are also assuming all risk, liability, and consequences, as we have repeatedly stated this is an unsafe practice. Parents must adhere to school policies and procedures while on school grounds to ensure the safety of all students and staff.
Please do not let your child out of the vehicle until you have circled through the loop and there is a sidewalk on the passenger side. If you choose to walk your child to class, park quickly and properly, Do not back into spaces, as this disrupts traffic flow. While convenience may be tempting, the fastest and safest way for everyone to move through the loop is to kiss and roll. At this point in the year, all students, including those in the Chrysalis Center, are capable of exiting the vehicle independently and walking to class. Staff are stationed to monitor students, and students know their routes. Building independence is essential, and together we can ensure safety and efficiency.
Thank you for your cooperation and commitment to keeping our school community safe.
Sincerely,
April Murphy
Principal

⛄🎭Celebration of the Arts🎭⛄
Dear MGA families,
MGA's Junior Thespian Troupe 89737 is pleased to invite you to our “Winter Wonderland: Celebration of the Arts.” Our goal this school year is to create an inclusive environment for all students. This event will feature workshops, vendors, concessions, activities, performances, an opportunity to read with therapy animals, and more! This will also be an opportunity for MGA families to make purchases at the Scholastic Book Fair in the Media Center. This event is designed to be an enjoyable and collaborative experience for all MGA staff, students and families.
The “Winter Wonderland: Celebration of the Arts” will take place on Thursday, December 11th, 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. To make this event possible, we kindly request donations. We are aiming to raise over $3,000 to ensure that all children can participate. We are accepting cash, check (made out to Monarch Global Academy) and on-line donations: https://osp.osmsinc.com/childrensguild/ Proceeds from this event will go to our Junior Thespian Troupe to support students going to the MD Junior Thespian Festival in January.
We look forward to your support and participation.
