Congratulations
Congratulations to Mr. Tomasko! He is our TOMS Staff Member of the Week! He was nominated by Mr. Brady!
Mr. Tomasko is a 6th Grade ELA Teacher at TOMS and has been teaching here for 4 years. He is also our Kindness Club Advisor!
My favorite memory of middle school was getting to travel with my best friends on overnight field trips to Boston (7th grade) and Washington, DC (8th grade) and feeling that we were on a huge adventure together.
My advice to my middle school self would be…whatever you do in life, do it well. Always go the extra mile to put your total effort into everything that you want to do and into the person who you want to become.
We are proud to share that the South Carolina Band Directors Association has awarded Mr. Jose Pope and the Ten Oaks Middle School Band Program the SCBDA Outstanding Performance Award for the 2025–2026 school year! This incredible honor reflects the hard work, talent, and dedication of our student musicians—and marks the third consecutive year receiving this recognition!
As previously shared last week, Mr. Chad Hammer and the TOMS Orchestra program also earned the SCMEA Outstanding Performance Award for the third year in a row.
Congratulations to our Silver Fox musicians and directors—keep shining!
Our final Spring Fine Arts Concert of the year was another unforgettable evening as the TOMS Orchestra Program and Silver Strings delivered outstanding performances under the direction of Mr. Chad Hammer.
There was beautiful music, lots of awards and recognition, impressive performances, a few tears and lots of applause, the evening was a wonderful celebration of talent, hard work, and dedication.
We are also proud to share that the South Carolina Music Educators Association Orchestra Division awarded Mr. Chad Hammer and the Ten Oaks Middle School Orchestra Program the SCMEA Outstanding Performance Award (Junior Silver) for the 2025–2026 school year — an incredible honor and testament to the excellence of our student musicians! This is the third year in a row receiving this recognition and honor.
We are so proud of all of our student performers and especially proud of our 8th grade students who have been part of these amazing programs throughout their middle school journey.
Bravo, Bravo

This week we gathered to celebrate our award-winning students from the TOMS Rubik’s Cube Club and the TOMS Tech Club for their outstanding accomplishments at the HCS 2026 Tech Fair!
Mrs. Preciado and Mr. Robinette were excited to present the students with their medals and certificates of achievement. Thank you both for your leadership, dedication, and support of these students throughout the year!
We are so proud of their hard work, creativity, problem-solving skills, and dedication. Congratulations to all of our winners for representing TOMS so well!

This month, we also celebrated National Nurses Day!
We would be remiss not to recognize our two fabulous caregivers, Nurse Bernadette Dugan and Nurse Debby Gorby! Their care, compassion, and dedication help keep our school running every single day.
We are so thankful for everything they do for our students and staff. Today and every day, we celebrate and appreciate you both! Thank you for all that you do!
A big thanks to Sonni Shupe from Sonniday Creations for the beautiful hand made gifts for our Nurses!
Students in Mr. Tomasko’s classes took a break from ELA last Friday and teamed up for an egg-citing “Easter in May” egg hunt filled with math & science review questions to prepare for this week’s SC READY testing! Teams searched high and low to locate 20 hidden eggs throughout the library, including two golden eggs worth double the points, and answered the challenging review questions inside! Prizes were awarded to the most accurate teams and it was a great experience for students to build confidence and test-taking strategies! We are proud of their hard work and wish our students the very best on their remaining SC READY tests this week! 🧠🔍🥚
WOW!!!
Our Silver Foxes absolutely showed up for our community! Thanks to the incredible generosity of our families, we collected and donated a whopping 564 pounds of food and necessities for our local Meals on Wheels organization!

A HUGE shoutout to our Silver Foxes — we couldn’t be more proud of your hard work, teamwork, and big hearts! You all are making a real difference one donation at a time!
THANK YOU for helping us spread kindness and support throughout our community!

BUS
Dear TOMS Parents/Guardians,
In an effort to minimize classroom disruptions and maintain a focused learning environment, we are implementing a few new procedures effective immediately:
Lunch Drop-Offs
If a student’s lunch is dropped off at the front office, it will be placed on a designated cart near the security desk.
Students will not be called out of class to pick up their lunch.
Please remind your child to check the cart if they realize they do not have their lunch.
Other Item Drop-Offs
If other items (e.g., forgotten computers, books, clothing, etc.) are delivered for a student, an email will be sent to the teacher of the class the student is currently attending.
Teachers will check their email regularly throughout the day so students can receive their items in a timely manner.
Changes in Dismissal
Any changes to your child’s transportation home should be communicated prior to your student arriving at school.
Dismissal changes cannot be made over the phone after 2:00 PM to allow sufficient time to notify both the teacher and student.
Thank you for your continued support and cooperation.
