St. Thomas School
Mid-Week Memo: September 15, 2026
Our Mission
St. Thomas School serves the parishes of St. Therese of Lisieux, Holy Spirit, and St. Matthew.
In partnership with the family, we are dedicated to nurturing the personal development of the whole child. Our mission is to instill Catholic values, foster self-discipline, and promote academic excellence in the spirit of a caring, affirming community.
From the Principal's Desk...
Dear St. Thomas families,
Tomorrow is the big day! Bishop Ruggieri will be celebrating Mass at 9:00am for our school and then visiting in grades 3-8. Please be sure that your child(ren) have their best mass uniforms on and tucked in for this special occasion. Also, on Thursday, all of the Maine Catholic School principals and the superintendent will be meeting at St. Thomas. I know they will be welcomed by the caring, Christ-centered community that is at the heart of St. Thomas School!
Our Cedar Pavilion “Community Build” is taking place this weekend, and at the moment we have only one family member signed up to help. Even if you have little or no construction experience, there are many ways to contribute, including organizing materials, sorting components, and assisting builders as needed. If you are interested in helping, or know someone who may be willing to lend a hand, please email me at angela.madigan@portlanddiocese.org. I will send interested volunteers a copy of the assembly guide, which includes a list of required tools. If you have any of these tools available, bringing them along would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for supporting this important project and helping make it a success!
Christmas Concert Our Christmas Concert will be held at the Sanford Performing Arts Center again this year. We will be performing on Tuesday, December 15th at 6:00pm. I am looking forward to hearing our sweet children’s voices lifted up in song to the Lord!
Altar Server Training Holy Family Church will host an altar server training on Saturday, September 19, at 10:00 a.m. We warmly invite any St. Thomas School students who are interested in serving at either our school Masses or parish Masses to attend. Students must be in Grade 3 or above and have received the appropriate sacraments. We encourage any interested students to take advantage of this opportunity to learn more about this important ministry and deepen their participation in the Mass.
Have a fabulous week and weekend ahead!
In His peace,
Mrs. Angela Madigan
