Elliott Eagles Update
Dear Elliott Families,
As the weather gets colder, please send your child to school dressed warmly for outdoor recess. Jackets, long pants, and closed-toe shoes will help students stay comfortable. Hats and gloves are also helpful on chilly days. Dressing in layers allows students to adjust throughout the day.
Please label your child’s belongings so misplaced items can be returned. Thank you for helping keep our Eagles warm and ready to learn!

A Look At Our Spirit Week
Peachjar is a flyer distribution system used by Wayne-Westland Community Schools. The digital platform streamlines school-to-home communication by distributing school and community resources directly to families as digital flyers. For additional information on our School Flyers by Peachjar page.
Student Arrival & Dismissal Locations
This year when arriving to Elliott students will go to their designated door entrances upon
arrival. Please see the map provided for class locations.
K - Door 13 (students will exit for dismissal from classroom exterior door)
2nd - Open Position (Mrs. Redd) and 2nd/3rd Grade Split Class Mrs. Salinas - Door 13
1st & 2nd - Door 10
3rd & 4th - Door 5
5th, K-2 Wendecker & 2-5 Earby - Door 11
The lot closest to Bennington St where the arrival & dismissal takes place is designated for our Elliott families that need to park to come into the building. Please make sure that you are not entering the bus loop/staff parking area to ensure a quick and smooth drop off for our school buses.
When entering the parking lot please look for the K-2 drop off area and the 3-5 drop off area.
When pulling in the no parking zones they are designed to drop off students and keep moving.
No one should park in these areas and leave their car as it makes arrival and dismissal more
difficult for everyone involved. Students should not be dropped off in the middle of the lanes
as this becomes a safety concern.
Staff will be at the arrival grade level drop off areas to assist families on the first day locating
their assigned doors.
Birthday Recognition
We mentioned during our Open House about birthday recognition for our students. We also recognize our students during our morning announcements.
- Birthday Recognition- Parents must let teacher know ahead of time. It is not a birthday party so no balloons should be brought to school.
- Parents can bring in individually pre-packaged item with ingredients listed so we can check for allergies.
- Some classrooms may be peanut free classrooms and the classroom teacher will communicate this information.
Elliott School Spirit Store
We are excited that we have spirit wear that we have been able to partner with AKA Sports located in Wayne to create a school spirit store for Elliott Elementary. We encourage our students to wear their spirit wear on our spirit wear days during our sports seasons. Elliott Spirit Store

Parent Volunteers
Chaperone and Volunteer
The Board encourages the use of volunteers to support the School District. Because the safety of the School District´s students is of paramount importance, every individual volunteer is required to undergo a criminal background check through the Michigan State Police Internet Criminal History Access Tool (ICHAT) before they are permitted to volunteer, regardless of whether or not the volunteer will work directly with students. ICHAT criminal background checks will be performed annually for each volunteer.
Family Resource Center
Wayne-Westland Community Schools has a Family Resource Center (FRC), which provides services to any student/family enrolled in our District, free of cost. Some of the services they provide are: basic need assistance, access to over 700 local resources, Laundry Assistance Program and material items for those unable to afford them (emergency toiletries, socks/underwear, hats/gloves/scarves, etc.) They are also able to supply school supplies and backpacks year round for any WWCS student. Please contact our Family Resource Center at: 734-419-2709 or FRC@wwcsd.net. Our FRC also has a Digital Request for Services Form, which can be used to request assistance by filling out a simple form. Please contact the Family Resource Center directly with any additional questions regarding their services.
