Hello Titus Families,

We had a wonderful week at Titus! Today, our SWPBIS team launched an exciting new cafeteria incentive called The Golden Spoon. Classes are working together to demonstrate positive behavior aligned with our PAWS for Pride values while having lunch in the cafeteria. As classes earn tallies for meeting expectations, they move closer to a special reward … extra recess time! Students were very excited about this new opportunity, and it has already been a huge hit. A HUGE shoutout to Ms. Stevens, Mrs. Bartasavich, Mrs. Wilson, Mrs. Chrencik, Mrs. Duffy, Mrs. Nero and Mrs. Horan for all of their planning and creativity to make this initiative a success already for our students.

This week I was also joined by my guest principal, Miss Amaya! Amaya raised over $3,000 for Run For Funds, making her the recipient of Principal for a Day for bringing in the highest amount of donations. Amaya visited every Titus classroom and distributed PAWS for Pride to students and classes exhibiting our core values. She did an awesome job in her role for the day!

In addition, our fifth grade team is looking for games and activities to support our screen-free indoor recess initiative. If you have gently used board games, card games, or puzzles you would be willing to donate, we would greatly appreciate your support.

Thank you for your continued partnership and support of our Titus Tigers! We hope you have a wonderful weekend.

Your Principal,

Erin Walter

TITUS SCHOOL DAY TITUS SCHOOL DAY

START OF THE SCHOOL DAY ...

We are an "A" or early school, and our hours are 8:35 AM to 3:15 PM.

Please be aware that the school day begins at 8:35 AM in your child(ren)'s classroom(s). If you are a car rider in the morning, it is recommended that children are dropped off no later than 8:30 AM in order to get to their classrooms for the start of the school day at 8:35 AM. If a student arrives in their classroom beyond 8:35 AM, they are considered tardy. Parents will need to come into the building to sign their child in if they arrive after 8:35 AM.

The adults supervising the car-rider drop-off line will be on duty until 8:32 AM. Students dropped off after 8:32 AM will more than likely not be able to make it to their classrooms on time for the start of the school day at 8:35 AM. Also, for safety reasons, students arriving to school prior to 8:15 AM, need to be supervised by their parent/caregiver. We ask that all students wait with their family member in the drop off line until 8:15 AM.

End-of-Day Dismissal Change Procedure:

If your student must go home a different way than usual, please follow these steps to ensure your student dismisses the correct way:

✅Email your student’s teacher and copy the entire office staff, stating your student’s name and the end-of-day dismissal change:

  • [teacher's email]@cbsd.org
  • mbates@cbsd.org
  • cferry@cbsd.org
  • ahighberger@cbsd.org

✅If a student is going home with another family, the parents of both families must email or call the office, providing consent.

✅Copying the entire office staff assures the dismissal change is included in end-of-day dismissal announcements and is a backup if the teacher or any office staff are absent.

✅Please submit changes as early as possible. Changes cannot be accepted after 2:50PM.

VOLUNTEERS VOLUNTEERS

DON'T FORGET CLEARANCES....

Titus requires all potential volunteers to complete their paperwork for clearances prior to assuming any volunteer/chaperone role within the school. This will ensure we are in line with district and state expectations.

Who Needs Clearances: An individual who is responsible for the child's welfare or has direct contact with children. Pennsylvania law requires all persons having direct contact with school children to obtain background checks and clearances. In the best interest of the safety and security of our students, Central Bucks School District requires the submission of these clearances prior to volunteering during the school year. Each volunteer must create an individual Raptor account, and all required clearances must be submitted with your application. Approved volunteers must check in at the office with photo ID, such as a driver's license, when volunteering.

Additional information and steps on how to complete your clearances and to register to be a volunteer can be found on our district website.

School Bus Safety Week is Next Week: Help Keep Our Students Safe

Next week, Oct. 19–23, is National School Bus Safety Week, a reminder that every driver plays a role in keeping students safe. Please slow down, put away distractions, and be especially alert near bus stops and during morning pickup and afternoon drop-off times. Watch for children approaching or leaving buses, allow extra travel time, and obey school bus signals and stop arms. Thank you for helping our students get to and from school safely every day!

E-Bike Laws Provided by the CB Regional Police Department

CBSD wishes to remind families and students of the importance of obeying e-bike laws for the safety of all CB residents. The Central Bucks Regional Police Department has provided the district with this flyer to stress what defines a street legal e-bike and when an e-bike is not street legal. To be street legal, an e-bike must have working pedals, be limited to a maximum assisted speed of 20 mph, and the rider must be at least 16-years-old. E-dirt bikes, electric or gas-powered "mini-rides" with seats, and off-road-only bikes and scooters are not street legal. We thank our families and students for following these laws.
