Mr. Hedges's Happenings....

Shamrock Families!

Wow! It's been a busy Friday here at Shamrock Springs! Today, our school was filled with fun and learning as we welcomed Dads/Special Friends for Donuts with Dad, our third and fourth grade students had Career Day and multiple grades levels enjoyed Suessabration (this has been going on all week!). A special thank you to our teachers, PTO, parents and community members for helping make these events possible.

  • A big Shamrock Shout-Out to our Math Bowl team and Ms. Kelley and Mrs. Dubovich for the great job they did at the Math Bowl Invitational last night.

  • We love having lunch guests here at SSES. Please see the handout below for guidelines regarding lunch visitors. Remember that ALL lunch time guest must have SAFE VISITOR. Wondering what time your student has lunch? Please note that at the bottom of every newsletter, grade level lunch times are posted.

  • Thank you to all our parents and special friends who donated to our Family Fridays! We are so grateful and appreciate your constant support of our students and school.

  • Remember Daylight saving time 2020 will begin at 2:00am on Sunday, March 8th.

  • Join us on Tuesday, March 17th for our PTO meeting at 6:30pm in the library! All are encouraged to attend!

  • Please note our upcoming SSES Blood Drive on March 18th and plan to join us! More details can be found below.

  • As spring approaches, we have full calendar here at SSES! Please take a minute to look at the "Save the Date" feature at the bottom of the newsletter. This will alert you to important upcoming dates and activities. Be on the look out for more information regarding the activities as the date approaches.

  • Our Lost & Found bin is almost at capacity! All items in the Lost and Found bin (located near the cafeteria) will be donated to a local charity on March 13th. Please check the bin prior to this date for any items that your student might have lost!

  • School starts promptly at 7:50am on M, T, TH, F/8:20am on Wednsday. Please have your child to school prior to this ~ and with a few minutes to spare! Car rider drop-off begins at 7:35am on M,T, TH, F/8:05am on Wednesday. By getting here a few minutes early, this allows your child plenty of time to get into the building, get to class and be settled by the time the bell rings. Thank you for helping to get your student here on time!

Have a great weekend!

Nurse's Notes!

Hello Shamrock family! I am sure you have all heard of the outbreak of the COVID19 virus by now. Riverview Health is monitoring the situation and is actively developing guidelines in accordance with the Indiana State Department of Health, and the Indiana State Department of Education. More information will be sent out in the next week. So far, the CDC is suggesting that we practice the same guidelines that are in place for preventing the flu. This includes: good hand hygiene, staying home if you’re sick, wiping frequently touched surfaces with household cleaner/spray, practicing sneezing/coughing in your elbow or Kleenex, and avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth. Please follow this link for more information https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/about/prevention-treatment.html . During announcements this morning we shared an informative hand washing video with the students that you can view here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d914EnpU4Fo&feature=youtu.be . As always if your child is exhibiting a fever please do not send them back to school until fever free for 24 hours WITHOUT medications (Tylenol & Ibuprofen). If you have concerns or questions about the COVID19 virus the CDC, as well as, the WHO (World Health Organization) are both very informative & the most up to date resources. I have linked them here: https://www.cdc.gov/ , https://www.who.int/

Thank you to anyone who has sent in clothing donations for the clinic. I appreciate it!
