Morning Drop Off Morning Drop Off

It is hard to believe that Labor Day is upon us and that a new school year will be up and running in just a few days!

Below is some important information regarding where students should report on the first day of school, as well as our morning drop-off procedures.

Student Drop-Off Locations

Parents/guardians may drop students off at one of two locations:

  • Main Entrance: Morris/Prospect Avenue
  • Rear Entrance: Oakland Place

If you choose to drop your child off on Oakland Place, please pull into the driveway at the back of the school, drop your child off near the back of the cafeteria, and then proceed to the exit toward Maple Avenue.

For those using the front entrance off Prospect Avenue, once you enter the parking lot, please follow the signs and proceed to the designated drop-off area.

It is very important that vehicles pull all the way forward to the designated drop-off point before allowing students to exit. Stopping early to drop off your child can block traffic and prevent other vehicles from entering the parking lot, which can quickly create a traffic backup on Prospect Avenue.

We are asking everyone to work together and be mindful of safe and efficient drop-off practices. Your cooperation will help ensure a smooth start to the school day and, most importantly, keep our students, staff, and parents safe.

Thank you, and we look forward to a great start to the new school year!

On the first day of school, please ensure your children know the correct door to go to for the start of the day:

  • 6th Grade: Students should enter through the door at the intersection of Oakland Place and Summit Avenue (Door E8 on Summit Ave/Door E9 on Oakland Place).

  • 7th Grade: Students should gather near the front steps outside the Main Entrance and enter through doors E6 and E7.

  • 8th Grade: Students should enter through the doors closest to Summit Avenue and Morris Avenue (Doors E4 & E5).

Code of Conduct Code of Conduct

Please Sign and Return

On the first day of school, homeroom teachers will distribute the Code of Conduct form, which is required to be signed by parents/guardians and returned to school.

Your child will bring the form home; however, in case it does not make its way home, I have attached a copy here for you to download, sign, and return to school.

Thank you for your cooperation and attention to this important task.

In case you did not read Superintendent Hough’s parent communication yesterday, I have attached his letter below regarding the district’s cell phone and smartwatch ban.

Additionally, to reinforce the policy and ensure that students are taking it seriously, the middle and high schools have established consequences for students who are found in possession of their cell phone in the hallways, classrooms, or any common areas outside of their lockers.

1st Offense: Warning

2nd Offense: Parent/Guardian picks up phone from school + Central Detention

3rd Offense: Parent/Guardian picks up phone from school + Central Detention

4th Offense: Parent/Guardian picks up phone from school + Suspension

Our goal is to reinforce healthy habits, minimize distractions, and ensure that students understand the importance and seriousness of the law passed by the state.
