Message From the Principal
Our After School Program will start this week. This is offered Monday-Thursday until 4:30pm for students who are needing some extra support on their school or extra time to get their work completed. It is important that the students who are attending ASAP are there to work and will put forth effort and not distract other students or take away from their opportunity to work and learn.
With all of the snow we do have more students getting dropped off in the morning and picked up in the afternoon. Please make sure you are following the procedures for this. Students are not to be dropped off in the gravel parking lot, you must stay in the line and drop them off once you are on McLucas Street. You loop through the gravel parking lot but do not park in the lot. Please do not pull into the main parking lot to drop students off, we have buses that are pulling in and we need to make sure they can do what they need to do. If you are wanting to drop off in the main lot you must wait until after 7:45am.
In the afternoon students must get picked up from the gravel lot, if you are parked in the main lot you will need to wait until the buses have pulled out at 3:30pm before students will be allowed to go into the main lot.
We are working on making changes to address the pick up and drop off issues. While we continue to work on this please have patience and make sure you are watching students when they are crossing the crosswalk and gravel parking lot. Talk with your students about watching for cars and not darting in-between cars and buses.
Student Service Coordinator- Ms. Andrews
Today was a busy day for our students. As part of their Individual Plans of Study (IPS), students spent the day preparing for their upcoming Student-Led Conferences. They worked on crafting presentations, creating personalized invitations for parents and guardians, and making sure their Xello profiles are ready to showcase their interests and achievements.
We are very grateful for the community members who generously shared their time and expertise this afternoon, offering students a glimpse into a variety of career paths. Students in grades 6-8 had the opportunity to hear from multiple professionals from different fields, allowing them to ask questions, gain inspiration, and reflect on how their own interests and talents could align with future careers.
We encourage you to continue the conversation at home by guiding your child to reflect on the information they heard from today's speaker, as well as share your own personal journey, offering perspective on how your own interests and strengths have helped get you to where you are today.
Also, please be sure to keep an eye out for your student’s invitation to their Student-Led Conference on February 17th. You'll have the opportunity to select the time slot that works best for your family.
