College Prep: Scholarships
Prospective students can be considered for merit scholarships, which are typically based on ACT/SAT scores and GPA, when applying to colleges and universities. Many schools automatically consider applicants for these scholarships, while others may require a separate application. Scholarships are available from colleges, private donors, and other organizations and can be used for tuition, fees, and sometimes additional expenses.
Each school has its own scholarship deadlines and requirements. Students should pay close attention to these deadlines, as they can vary.
Scholarship Universe
Many colleges in Utah use Scholarship Universe, an online tool that connects students with scholarships both internally (offered by the school) and externally (from other organizations). Students should create a Scholarship Universe profile after applying for college to access personalized scholarship matches and information about how to apply.
