Community Resources and Support Community Resources and Support

We know that unexpected challenges can make it difficult to meet everyday needs. Here are some resources that WSD families may access if needed:

Meal Programs and Support

If your household’s income has changed, you may now qualify for free or reduced-priced meals. View the current income guidelines and apply for these benefits at any time. Questions? Contact Mary Jo Sanzottera at marysanzottera@wsdr4.org.

Food Emergencies

If your family needs immediate food assistance, the following community organizations can help you locate nearby pantries and food distribution events:

  • FindHelp.org – Local Food Pantries in Wentzville

  • St. Louis Area Foodbank – Food Distribution Events

These external resources are provided for community convenience and are not specifically endorsed by the Wentzville School District.

Homelessness

If your family is experiencing homelessness or is at risk of becoming displaced due to financial hardship, you may contact Coordinated Entry by calling 2-1-1 or through their website. For student enrollment questions related to homelessness and displacement, please reach out to Dr. Laura Rowe-Holler, Executive Director of Student Services/McKinney-Vento Liaison at lauraroweholler@wsdr4.org or 636.327.3800.

Employment

If you are interested in seeking employment through the WSD, please review our current job openings. We have positions available with evening hours and even substitute opportunities.

Other Needs

Your child’s school counselor may be able to help connect you with available District and community resources. Contact information for school counselors can be found on each school's website Staff Directory. Search "counselor" in the keyword search bar.

  1. Career Exposure: Be a guest speaker or join our career fairs to share what you do.

  2. Experiential Learning: Host a student for a job shadow, or develop an internship or apprenticeship program.

This is a great opportunity to inspire our students, build your future workforce, and give back to the community! Ready to share your skills? Please take a few minutes to complete our Parent/Community Career Contact form.

Adopt a WSD Family This Holiday Season

Would you like to bring a little holiday cheer to a WSD family? Each year in December the WSD Holiday Assistance Program helps to provide gifts for students in need and their families. Last year 361 families and 982 children received assistance in this charitable effort! The program works with businesses, community groups, and individuals to help make the upcoming holidays more enjoyable for struggling families.

If you would like to adopt a family, please contact (636) 327-3800 x20358 or zacharybreckle@wsdr4.org.

Help us show our staff how much they matter! Last year, 700 WSD employees received WOW Factor Awards—moments of gratitude submitted by parents, students, and colleagues. This year, our goal is bigger and bolder. We’re aiming to hit 2,600 celebrations, representing every full-time staff member in the District! We’re 4% of the way to our goal. Show your appreciation for a teacher, bus driver, counselor, custodian, or any staff member who makes an impact. Every WOW moment matters. Celebrate someone now!
