Published Authors!

I wanted to take a moment to recognize three published authors—Henry Colchin, Johnny Eagle, and Michael Moffa, all fifth graders here at Russell Knight Elementary School. It is incredibly encouraging to see our young people use their gifts to create literature and bravely put their work out into the world. Their creativity, collaboration, and perseverance are exactly the qualities we hope to nurture in our students.

Please consider purchasing a copy of Henry, Johnny, and Michael’s first book, Cupcake City, and supporting these outstanding young authors.

Cupcake City — Book Summary

Cupcake City is a fun, imaginative story set in a world where cupcakes are more than just a treat—they’re at the heart of an entire city. Through colorful characters, unexpected challenges, and plenty of humor, the authors take readers on an adventure that highlights teamwork, problem-solving, and creativity. With engaging twists and a playful tone, Cupcake City reminds readers that great ideas—and great stories—can come from anyone, especially when friends work together.

Entrapranaurs at Russell Knight

3rd graders, Nolan Provost and Lucas Grillo, are blossoming entraprenaurs. They used their 3D printers to create a variety of fidgets. They collaborated with the PTA to sell fidgets at the Cupid Dance. They generously donated 15% of their proceeds to our PTA.

This is a perfect example of a win-win situation. Good for our budding entraprenaurs and for our school community.

Morning Drop Off

Thank you for your patience as we continue to navigate snow and ice at drop-off. We know the sidewalk conditions have made arrival messier than usual, and we truly appreciate your flexibility.

Please know that we have been working to clear the sidewalk and create safe paths, though much of the snow has frozen solid. We were able to clear portions to support safer drop-offs.

One important ask: please limit the amount of time spent stopped during drop-off. If possible, have your child exit on the building side for safety, and then pull forward so traffic can continue moving. If your child is able, practicing unbuckling and exiting independently at home would be very helpful.

Thank you for your continued support and partnership.

Staff Appreciation Game Week -- Please consider making a donation

Hello Parents,

We are putting on a BIG surprise appreciation week at the end of February for our staff, and we have a few ways we would love for parents to get involved:

  • We are trying to collect short, heartfelt notes for all our staff, and we would like as many as possible. If you would like to create a short message of appreciation to a staff member, write it on an open card or note paper. You have your child drop it off in the main office and we will distribute the notes to teachers during our surprise appreciation week.

  • During the Surprise Appreciation Week, our staff will participate in a week-long Staff Contest with prizes and treats each day. We have creative ideas and special privileges for many of the prizes, but we also need gift cards.

    • If you would like to donate one or two, in any amount, please drop them off at the office by Friday, February 20th or email any e-gift cards to Mr. Park at epark@chclc.org.
      • We are looking for $5 giftcards for…
      1. Wawa

      2. Dunkin Donuts

      3. Target

      4. Amazon

That said, we are also open to bigger prizes.

Thank you, everyone, for helping us make this a special Staff Appreciation Week!

Mr. Park

February Core Value: Empathy

In February, we are focusing on empathy—understanding others’ feelings and showing kindness through our words and actions. Families can support this by modeling compassion and encouraging children to consider others’ perspectives at home.
