Trollwood Weekly

Excitement is palpable here at Trollwood as we look forward to Sun Celebration next Wednesday! The Trollwood Academy and Totally Trollwood Academy students saw a preview of the Sun Celebration performances as they had their Share Days this week and Trollwood Conservatory started for our most advanced students.

At Share Days, students come together to show off what they've learned in their classes so far this summer. Since they are in their own classes all day, this is the students' only opportunity to see what happens in the other classes. You won't want to miss your chance to see the amazing performances for yourself at Sun Celebration next Wednesday, July 1!

The Frozen team is hard at work both on the stage and behind the scenes. The cast and orchestra are rehearsing and the technical team is working hard to bring the magical land of Arendelle to life right here on the Bluestem Amphitheater stage.

ArtSpark is holding its second set of performances today at Carl Ben Eielson Middle School as we wrap up Week 2 of the program. After this tremendous week, we are looking forward to two more sessions of ArtSpark in July! There are still openings for students to sign up for the sessions on July 20-24 and July 27-31, which will be right here at Trollwood!

You won't want to miss the spectacular Sunshine Showcase! The showcase, beginning at 7:30, in between Periods 2 and 3, will feature a celebration of the 2026 senior class and a sneak preview of the Mainstage Musical, Disney's Frozen!

Food trucks, including Namaste, Detroit Deli, Deb’s Corner, Bombdog, Penny’s Eatery, and Tropical Sno will be available throughout the evening, beginning at 5 p.m., including during the Sunshine Showcase. Come prepared with a blanket and be ready to purchase food from vendors.

Sun Celebration is fun for the whole family with food, games, and activities in addition to the performances and demonstrations.

Schedule

• 5 p.m. - Doors Open and Food Trucks Available
• 6:30-6:50 p.m. - Period 1 presentations
• 7-7:20 p.m. - Period 2 presentations
• 7:30 p.m. - Sunshine Showcase!
• 8:10-8:30 p.m. - Period 3 presentations
• 8:40-9 p.m. - Period 4 presentations

We are seeking volunteers to help out at Sun Celebration on July 1! We have a number of opportunities to help out as we showcase the work of our Trollwood Academy and Totally Trollwood Academy and Trollwood Conservatory students, including Parking, Concessions, Box Office/Merchandise, Popcorn Poppers, Kids Activities, and the Registration/Map Table. Sign up to volunteer at Sun Celebration!

Join us for the musical phenomenon, based on the Award-winning animated feature film, that has taken the world by storm. Disney’s Frozen features a beloved cast of characters and includes the film’s classic songs by Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez, plus new music written exclusively for the stage. Full of magic, humor, and a stunning musical score, Frozen is a powerful tale of sisterhood, acceptance, and finding the real meaning of true love. Trollwood’s production of Disney’s Frozen is proudly sponsored by Bell Bank.

The Frozen lighting department is seeking followspot operators to work during tech week and the performance run of Frozen from July 13 to August 2. If you are interested, please contact Lighting Director Aaron Parelli at aaronparelli@yahoo.com or Production Manager Bryan Duncan at bduncan@cord.edu.

The Mainstage Musical cast has been working hard cleaning up their vocal performances with Music Director Dr. Kristin Griffeath, working on staging scenes with Director Becky Gulsvig and Stage Manager Leah Vogel, and practicing dances by Choreographer Grady Bowman and Assistant Choreographer David Triptow! Disney's Frozen promises to be a can't-miss spectacular!

The Frozen DREAM TEAM has been active as ambassadors for the Mainstage Musical out in the community, making connections, promoting their show, and sharing the spirit and joy of musical theatre! Recently, the DREAM TEAM has appeared at a Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks baseball game, at the Scandinavian Festival at Hjemkomst Center, and at a Hope Blooms event at The Memory Cafe.

As we wrap up Week 3 of Trollwood Academy and Totally Trollwood Academy, our students are displaying their growth and shining bright in their classes. Trollwood Conservatory, taught by Dr. Kristin Griffeath and Dr. Robin Griffeath, kicked off this week, giving our most advanced students an opportunity to take their skills to the next level.

We would love your assistance in a wide range of opportunities with the Mainstage Musical including:

• Scenic Construction
