Holy Rosary
NEWSLETTER | TERM 4| WEEK 6| 21ST NOV 2025
This weekend marks the Feast of Christ the King, also known as the Solemnity of Our Lord Jesus Christ, is a feast celebrated on the last Sunday of the liturgical year that acknowledges Jesus as the King of all creation.
Almighty, everlasting God,
Who in Thy beloved Son,
King of the whole world,
hast willed to restore all things anew;
grant in Thy Mercy that all the families of nations,
rent asunder by the wound of sin,
may be subjected to His most gentle rule.
Who with Thee lives and reigns world without end.
Amen.
Dear Parents, Friends, Staff and Guardians,
I am delighted to share some wonderful news - my recent medical procedure was 100% successful, and I am truly grateful for the support and prayers from our school community during this time. A special thank you to Ms Dwyer and Mr Kinder for their outstanding leadership in my absence. Their dedication ensured that our school continued to thrive.
As we approach the end of the year, school reports are just around the corner, and I am thrilled to see the significant improvement in student results. This progress reflects the hard work of our students, staff, and families, and the positive impact of our Catholic School Improvement Plan (CSIP).
Catholic School Improvement Plan (CSIP)
Our CSIP is already delivering dividends for our children and increasing our parents’ involvement in their learning journey. Another key focus is staffing, as we believe:
“Our professional educators are our most important and valued resource in achieving our school’s mission. We are committed to being the leading WA Catholic school in the recruitment, training, and development of high-quality Catholic educators and educational leaders, who are at the forefront of best evidence-based teaching and learning practices.”
To support this vision:
• We are currently advertising for two teachers who share our commitment to excellence.
• We have also received approval to appoint a gardener/handyman to enhance the presentation and care of our school grounds.
A full staffing update and CSIP progress report will be presented at our Annual Community Meeting (ACM) on Tuesday 2nd December at 5pm.
Behaviour Expectations
As the year draws to a close, we remind students and parents that high expectations for behaviour remain in place. Our Positive Behaviour Framework guides us, and students who do not meet these expectations may miss out on special events such as the Big Day Out. Thank you for reinforcing these standards at home.
Farewell and Gratitude
Today, our school community farewelled Father Tom and Father Peter, the Dominican Order. Their spiritual guidance and presence have been a blessing, and we wish them every success in their future ministries.
Your Feedback Matters
We are always striving to improve and value your input. Please share your compliments, feedback, or suggestions on any topic via the link below.
Thank you for your continued support as we work together to make Holy Rosary School the place where our children flourish.
Kind regards,
Michael O’Dwyer
Principal

Holy Rosary Students not returning in 2026
For our last library session this week, the Year 6’s and I read “Oh, the Places You’ll Go!” by Dr Seuss. It started wonderful discussions about the power of picture books and their teachings and how different the message was for them as graduating students of Holy Rosary, opposed to when they started their primary school journey. Congratulations to 6C for winning the Library Trophy one final time. What a beautiful way to end library time at their much-loved school.
All books must be returned or replaced next week. At the end of the week, when most books are received back in the library, I will start to contact parents about outstanding books. The library will be checked first, followed by the classrooms before this occurs. If your child has an overdue book, please encourage them to look in their tubs in the classroom, especially in Years 3 to 6 where they keep Accelerated Reader Books for silent reading and quizzes.
Thank you for your support of your school library,
Mrs Butson

Today is your day!

Having an agreement with your child about their ipad or phone use, is great way to keep the communication channels open and teach awareness about safe digital use. The below can be adapted to suit your home situation.

Road Closure and Traffic Delays
Permanent closure of the temporary Cedric Street southbound off-ramp – from 9pm, 14 November 2025.
We are progressing key construction works to complete the future Stephenson Avenue southbound off-ramp. To enable the safe construction of the tie-in with Mitchell Freeway, we are required to close the Cedric Street southbound off-ramp ahead of the new off-ramp opening.
Once the Cedric Street southbound off-ramp is closed, we will be working 24/7 to minimise the timeframe the ramp is closed and therefore disruption to traffic.
Based on current schedules the new southbound off-ramp at Stephenson Avenue will open in early December.
Access to Innaloo, Stirling and surrounding areas will temporarily be via the following alternative routes until the new Stephenson Avenue southbound off-ramp is operational:
- To access Innaloo and northern Stirling - exit earlier at the Karrinyup Road southbound off-ramp.
- To access Osborne Park and southern Stirling – exit later at the Hutton Street southbound off-ramp.
If you also regularly use the Stirling Station northern car park, access into the car park will be maintained via Cedric Street only, with no changes to how you exit the car park. View the access map here.
We understand that these disruptions may cause inconvenience to your journey and thank you for your patience while we undertake these important upgrades.
Signage will be in place to support these changes, and we encourage you to allow additional time to your travel journey, especially during peak periods.
