Cherrydale Primary School

Happy Wednesday Cherrydale Families,

We would like to remind families that there will be no school on Monday, January 19, in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. School will resume on Tuesday, January 20.

In recognition of Dr. King’s legacy, our entire school is working on a collaborative project inspired by the book Martin’s Big Words. Students are learning about Dr. King’s message of kindness, fairness, and respect for others. The completed project will be displayed in our main hallway. Once the project is complete, we will include photos in an upcoming newsletter for families.

We hope you enjoy the long weekend and the opportunity to reflect on Dr. King’s words and lasting impact.

Warm Regards,

Christine Firth, Principal

Ms. Rae’s 2nd grade classroom proudly created a bulletin board honoring Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and his dream that all children could attend school together. At the heart of the board is a message written from the students: “Dear Dr. King — we did it! We are all in school together.” This meaningful project helped students connect Dr. King’s legacy to their own lives and school community.

Due to the power outage on December 17th, Friday, March 27th will be used as our school make-up day.

When your student will be late, leaving early, or absent altogether, please notify the office.

If the Tardy, Early Release or Absence is due to an appointment, please bring a note from the doctor's office.
