Happy Friday DKMS families! It has been another busy week in the middle school.

Next week Tuesday May 21, 2024 and Thursday May 23, 2024 students will be taking their NWEA tests. Testing will begin at 8:05 am on both days. It is important for students to get a good night's rest, eat breakfast, come to school on time, charge their Chromebook the night before, and bring their charging cord to school during testing.

8th grade students have begun scheduling their classes for next year. Schedules need to be turned into their teacher or Mrs. Collins by Wednesday May 22, 2024. If you or your child have questions about classes, please contact Mrs. Collins via email at sarah.collins@dkschools.org.

Wednesday May 22, 2024 the middle school will be having Career Day. Students will have the opportunity to hear from a diverse group of professionals from the local area. Students will get to learn about their careers, qualifications, schooling, and have the opportunity to ask questions.

With our 6th, 7th, 8th grade field trips coming up soon, I would like to remind parents and students about staying eligible to go on their field trips. Please remember that attendance, grades, and behavior are all a part of the criteria to go. We have a few weeks to go before the trips and I would like as many students eligible to go as possible! If you have questions about your child's eligibility please reach out to your child's teacher.

As always I would like to thank our staff, students, families, and community for all of their support and hard work. We are getting closer and closer to the finish line and I know we will finish strong! Thank you again and have a wonderful weekend!
