March 2025 Bronc and Filly Flyer
Dear Cody Middle School Community,
As we step into the final stretch of the school year, I want to take a moment to reflect on the incredible achievements of our students, staff, and community while looking ahead to the exciting opportunities still to come. Cody Middle School continues to thrive as a place of innovation, excellence, and collaboration, and I could not be prouder of the work happening within our halls every single day.
A Visit from Wyomingโs Governor Gordon โ Celebrating Innovation, Staff/Student Success, & Leadership
On February 25th, we were honored to welcome Governor Mark Gordon to our school as part of the RIDE (Reimagining and Innovating the Delivery of Education) Initiative. Cody Middle School and Park 6 are proud to be part of the first cohort selected for this program, which strengthens career-connected learning and community partnerships.
During his visit, Governor Gordon engaged in a student panel discussion about our Classroom 2 Careers initiative, active learning spaces, and some of our incredible enrichment partnerships, including:
Civil Air Patrol
Cody Regional Health
Cody Police Department
Northwest College
Buffalo Bill Center of the West
Army ROTC
Podcasting & Graphic Design
Wyoming Game & Fish
He also toured our STREAM Lab, where students demonstrated their hands-on learning experiences in circuits and engineering, which as Governor Gordon pointed out, tied directly into Wyomingโs future as a leader in nuclear power. Additionally, the Governor explored the CMS Quilts of Valor program and our Digital Music class, showcasing the diverse learning experiences available at CMS.
We are grateful for the opportunity to share the innovative learning happening in our classrooms and the dedication of our professional educators who continue to lead the way in preparing students for the future.

Winter Sports & Academic Success โ Finish Strong!
As our winter sports seasons wrap up, I want to recognize our student-athletes in boysโ basketball, swimming, Nordic skiing, and alpine skiing for their hard work and dedication. Their perseverance, teamwork, and commitment have been inspiring to watch, and I know they will carry these lessons far beyond the playing field.
Beyond athletics, we have even more academic achievements to celebrate this past month!
๐ Cody Middle School recently hosted its first-ever Speech & Debate Competition! Several of our students placed in the event, and this talented group has continued to improve and grow each week. Their hard work, critical thinking, and confidence in public speaking have been truly impressive, and we look forward to seeing this program thrive in the future.
๐ Our Challenge of the Books team also recently placed third in our regional competition! This dedicated group of students has spent countless hours reading, studying, and preparing, and their commitment to teamwork and academic excellence is something to be proud of.
Additionally, with WYTOPP Spring Summative Assessments approaching in April and May, itโs important that we stay focused, prepared, and engaged in our academics. These last three months will go by quickly, but they are critical to ensuring student success as we prepare for the next school year.
Our Work is Never Done โ Letโs Keep Relentlessly Pursuing Excellence!
Cody Middle School has achieved so much this school year, and we have no intention of slowing down! The work we do togetherโstaff, students, and familiesโmakes our school a dynamic place of learning and growth. I encourage every student to embrace these final months with enthusiasm, commitment, and a drive for excellence.
Thank you for your unwavering support and dedication to making Cody Middle School a place where every student can thrive. Letโs finish this school year strong, together!
Go Broncs & Fillies!
With Gratitude,
Jacob R. Gogan

Required Student ID
If your student rides any bus, please make sure they have their Student ID. Park 6 Transportation will begin strictly enforcing the use of Student IDs on all buses, including in-town field trips. Park 6 wants to make sure all students are safe and accounted for as well as be able to identify when and where they get on and off the bus. If your student requires a new Student ID, please let the Cody Middle School Front Office know and we will provide you with a replacement card form that you can return to us along with a $5 ID replacement fee. If you have questions, please call the Park 6 Transportation Department at 307-587-2851.
Drinks & Snacks for Purchase During Lunch
The Park 6 and CMS Nutrition Staff are offering additional drinks and snacks for purchase during lunch. Your student may charge these additional drinks and snacks to their account as long as they have a positive balance. Please talk with your student if you approve of them purchasing these extra drinks and snacks. We know that many families only budget a certain amount for school lunches each month, so we want to make sure you are aware of this and able to have a conversation with your student. If you have any concerns or questions please contact us.
