Welcome Back to School! Welcome Back to School!

Principal's Message Principal's Message

The new school year is upon us and we are so excited to throw open our doors and welcome everyone back for yet another amazing school year!

Please join us for our Meet the Teacher Night on Wednesday, Aug. 27 from 3:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. As this is the night before the first day of school we invite our students to bring in their school supplies and see their new classroom. We look forward to seeing you all then!

Bell Schedule for the 2025/26 School year: with our division moving to a collaborative Wednesday calendar, each school in the division has needed to adjust our bell times to accommodate for the early dismissal for each Wednesday of the 2025/26 school year. Our school day will begin at 8:25 a.m., lunch we run from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. and our school day will finish at 3:12 p.m. If you'd like to take a look, here is our Bell Schedule for 2025/26.

Map of our classrooms and Entrance Doors

Please check out this map to see where your child's classroom will be this year! Our Early learning (Quest and Kindergarten) will be down the hallways toward the library, our grade 1's and 2 will be downstairs and our grades 3 to 6 will be upstairs. Check out the map if you're not quite sure where those locations are!

Movie Night 2024
:
mark your calendars as we will again be hosting a Movie Night next school year! It is set for Friday, Sept. 19 at 6:00 p.m. Great news! The company we work with now offers "daylight" screens which means that we don't need to wait for sundown. This is amazing for our younger students as often we were beginning the movie around their bedtimes. What movie will we watch? We will work with ACF in the fall to determine which exciting movie they will have available for us. Stay tuned!

Happy new school year everyone!

Student Transportation: 2025-26 registration Student Transportation: 2025-26 registration

Planning to use Student Transportation in the 2025-26 school year? If so, make sure your child is registered so Elk Island Public Schools (EIPS) can plan routes and send your child a bus pass before the first day of school.

All students who indicated needing transportation services through the returning student or new student registration processes are now registered. Those families have also received tentative route schedules and invoices—fees are due June 30, 2025.

For those students who did not indicate needing transportation services during the registration process and want to now register, complete a Busing Setup form through the Transportation Service Desk.

NOTE: Families can pay fees online using the PowerSchool Parent Portal. To pay in-person, visit the EIPS Student Transportation building during its office hours—Monday to Friday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on school days and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on school closure days.

Drop off lane Drop off lane

For the safety of our students, a reminder that this lane is for QUICK student drop off only. There is to be no parking for any reason in the express lane. Please park on the street if you need to walk with your student into the school.

Division Code of Conduct

EIPS has three administrative procedures (APs) that address the Division’s code of conduct:

· AP 311: Welcoming, Caring, Respectful and Safe Learning Environments for Students

· AP 350: Student Code of Conduct

· AP 351: Student Conduct on School Buses

The Division, and École Parc Élémentaire, are committed to ensuring all members of the school community are provided with welcoming, caring, respectful and safe learning environments that respect diversity and foster a sense of belonging. EIPS encourages all students, staff and families to review the procedures to understand and practice the conduct expected throughout the Division.

Video surveillance at schools and on buses

Did you know each EIPS bus is equipped with video surveillance, and many school sites have video monitoring equipment?

Video surveillance and equipment help:

· ensure the safety of all students, staff, drivers and property; and

· discourage destructive acts.

As needed, EIPS school administration and Student Transportation staff review video recordings, in accordance with the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy (FOIP) Act. The recordings assist schools and the Division with monitoring student and driver conduct and may be used as evidence in a disciplinary matter.

For more information about the collection, use and disclosure of personal information, contact the EIPS FOIP Co-ordinator at 780-464-3477.
