Dear Calhoun Early Childhood School Families,

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our first Family Engagement Night! We had such a great turnout, and it was wonderful to see families connecting, participating in activities, and enjoying time together.

I also want to share how much it means to me when you stop to say helloβ€”or to tell me how much you appreciate being greeted in the carpool line each morning. Knowing that you and your children miss me when I’m not there truly warms my heart.

This year, one of my personal goals is to grow through feedback. I’m currently reading Thanks for the Feedback by Douglas Stone and Sheila Heen, and I’ve been collecting input from our staff on ways I can improve as a leader. Your kind words in passing have reminded me that families have valuable feedback tooβ€”and I would love to hear from you!

Please take a few moments to share your thoughts using the form below. Let me know how I can better support you and your family, and what you think I’m doing well so I can keep it upβ€”even if it’s as simple as a morning smile and wave.

Thank you, as always, for your partnership and support. I truly feel like the luckiest principal in the world to work alongside the best students and families.

Warmly,

Sara Anderson

βœ… Reminders βœ… Reminders

πŸ•’ Please remember that while our school time starts at 7:30am, we are outside and greeting kids starting at 7:00am. We have had very few cars arriving between 7:00am-7:20am. If you wait until the last minute to bring your child in the carpool line, you run the risk of arriving tardy. Please make sure to plan ahead and utilize the line before 7:15am. You will get in and out with no wait!

⏰ For safety and efficiency, students will not be released after 2:00pm. Please plan ahead for appointments or other time commitments to ensure your child is picked up before this time.

πŸš— Please remember that we run two car lines at the same time:

From the North: Turn left into the left lane of the parking lot. This lane is for Piney Woods, Gulf Coast, and South Plains.

From the South: Turn right into the parking lot and use the right lane, which wraps around to the back of the building. This lane is for Big Bend, Hill Country, and Panhandle.

πŸ“΅Please enter the parking lot with caution and avoid using your phone while driving. As you turn in, use your blinker to signal. This helps us clearly distinguish Calhoun families from neighborhood traffic and ensures a smoother, safer arrival for everyone.

State-Mandated Hearing & Vision Screenings – October 29 & 30

As required by Texas state law, Health Services will be conducting hearing and vision screenings for all students at Calhoun ECS on October 29th and 30th. Screenings will be performed by trained Health Services staff during the school day. These screenings are an important part of identifying any potential issues that may affect your child’s learning. If your child wears glasses or hearing aids, please ensure they bring them to school on these days.

BEST PUBLIC SCHOOLS IN TEXAS

Named by HEB’s Excellence in Education Awards as the Best Large District in the State of Texas, Prosper ISD has an established 67-year history that is grounded in the humble roots of a farming community, now soaring to the fastest growing school district in Texas, due in no small part to the pursuit of excellence in the arts, academics and athletics. Our students and staff are routinely recognized on the local, state, and national levels for outstanding achievements, and our teachers are highly qualified experts who bring out the best in every student.

ABOUT PROSPER ISD

Prosper ISD is a school district located north of Dallas in Collin and Denton Counties. The district spans approximately 58 square miles and serves more than 32,000 students in 20 elementary schools, 6 middle schools, 4 high schools, and one early childhood school.

🫢 THANK YOU TO OUR COMMUNITY FOR SUPPORTING OUR TEACHERS & STUDENTS

In November 2023, an overwhelming majority of voters approved $2.7 billion to continue building excellence in Prosper ISD. Thank you for your continued financial commitment to our district.

And while our facilities are second to none, we know that it is the people who make the difference in Prosper ISD. From our bus drivers to our teachers to our teacher assistants, our staff is here to support students as they pursue their dreams of excellence in academics, fine arts, and athletics.
