Every Day Counts! A Message from our Superintendent

Every school day is an opportunity for students to learn, grow, and connect — and we love seeing our classrooms full of curious, engaged learners! When students attend regularly, they build strong routines, confidence, and lasting success.

We understand sometimes absences are unavoidable, and whenever possible, we encourage families to help children be at school every day and on time. Missing even a couple of days each month can make it harder to stay caught up, and being present helps everyone in the classroom keep learning together.

Thank you for all you do to support your child’s education. Your partnership makes a big difference — because every day of learning truly counts!

Warmly,

~ Dena Naccarato, Superintendent

Veterans Day Activities Veterans Day Activities

In honor of Veterans Day 2025, students across Post Falls School District participated in activities to recognize and celebrate our nation’s heroes. Many schools hosted classroom lessons and assemblies where students explored the history of the holiday and learned about the important roles of each branch of the U.S. Armed Forces.

Students expressed their gratitude through creative artwork and heartfelt letters, which were personally delivered to local veterans. Digital slideshows highlighted family members of staff and students who are currently serving or have served in the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Space Force or Coast Guard. School choirs and bands performed patriotic songs, while color guard teams proudly posted the colors. Local servicemen, women, and veterans joined in these celebrations, creating a meaningful connection between students and those who have dedicated their lives to service.

The 2025 Veterans Day activities in Post Falls School District inspired students to honor and support the courageous men and women who have sacrificed so much to protect the freedoms we all enjoy.

Winter Weather Reminders

As you are aware, on occasion it is necessary to cancel school because of inclement winter weather. We also have the option of a 2-hour late start when it appears the weather could improve enough to safely open school for students and staff members later in the morning.

The Superintendent considers the safety of students and employees when making the decision whether to conduct school, close, or enact a 2-hour late start. In the event of a closure or 2-hour late start, the local media is contacted immediately. The district provides information to KXLY, KVNI, KCDA, KISS, KDRK radio and KREM-2, KXLY-4 AND KHQ-6 television stations. The district will also utilize the SchoolMessenger notification system for parents with texting capabilities on their cell phones who have opted in to the SchoolMessenger system.

To receive school notifications, you must opt in to School Messenger, and your student's school must have your current cell number entered in their system.

Please follow the steps below to opt in:
**Send a text message to 67587 with "Y" or "Yes” in the body of the text.
**You will receive a confirmation text reply that you are registered with School Messenger.

Understanding School Meal Debt

Our nutritional services staff are working diligently to communicate with parents regarding student meal balances. When a student’s balance gets low, an email is generated to keep parents informed. In the event a student's balance moves into the negative, emails are sent three times a week, statements are mailed monthly, and parents receive a call from either child nutrition, the school or both.

Students with an account balance owed of $50 or more are limited to one meal choice at breakfast and lunch (free students are not impacted). These options meet all USDA guidelines and will include all of the necessary components of a balanced meal (such as protein, grains, fruit, vegetable, and milk). This meal is a regularly offered menu option and is available to all students.

How to make online meal payments . . . .

Payments to your student(s) account may be made online at RevTrak or through Skyward Family Access, by cash or check at the school kitchen, or by mail. For information on using the RevTrak system see our help document.
