Thanksgiving Lunch
Join us for our Annual Family Thanksgiving Luncheon on Thursday, November 5th! We look forward to sharing a meal and celebrating the season with our Willow Creek families. Please check in at the office.
November No School Dates
Parent Teacher Conferences
Parent-Teacher Conferences are right around the corner, and we are excited to connect with you about your students progress!
To ensure a smooth scheduling process for all families, sign-up links will be distributed via email in two staggered phases:
First Week of November: Sign-up links will be sent to families with multiple students enrolled in our building. This early window allows multi-student households to schedule back-to-back appointment blocks across teachers.
Second Week of November: Sign-up links will be sent to all remaining families.
Important Note on Teacher Availability:
Please be aware that individual teachers may have specific blocks of time allocated across conference week rather than identical open schedules. When you open your sign-up link, you will see your teacher's exact available time slots. Because open slots within these blocks are limited, we strongly encourage you to select your preferred time as soon as your link arrives.
Please keep a close eye on your email inbox during your designated week. We encourage you to open the link and select your conference time as soon as it arrives.
October Photo Dump!
Take a look back at everything our students experienced this month:
PAWS Polite Winners: Honoring model student behavior and kindness
Dental Hygiene Presentations: Building healthy habits for bright smiles
Fire Prevention Week: Interactive safety lessons with local firefighters
5th Grade Reading Buddies: Mentoring our younger students through shared reading
Pumpkin Patch & Halloween Festivities: Celebrating autumn with creative projects and holiday fun.
Thanksgiving Break
As we head into break let’s work together to stop germs in their tracks before school resumes on Nov 30th.
Here is a quick checklist for items traveling home with your student:
🧥 Coats & Jackets: Toss heavy outerwear and gloves in the wash.
🍱 Lunch Boxes: Deep clean inside seams, linings, and outer zippers.
💧 Water Bottles: Wash thoroughly with warm soapy water or run through the dishwasher.
🎒 Backpacks: Wipe down handles, zippers, and outer fabrics.
A quick refresh over break goes a long way toward keeping our whole school family healthy and present!
Important Message For Parents
Parents,
We appreciate your ongoing partnership in keeping our school day running smoothly, safely, and with minimal disruptions to learning. To ensure every child receives maximum instructional time and a seamless school day, please review our policies regarding attendance and daily lunches.
Attendance, Arrival & Checkout Policies
Direct academic instruction begins promptly at 8:00 AM and continues until 3:10 PM. Late drop-offs and early pick-ups (even a few minutes before dismissal) cause students to miss key instruction.
Early Exits & Attendance: Checking a student out prior to 3:10 PM is recorded as an early exit and impacts your child’s overall attendance record.
In-Person Sign-Out Required: To safeguard instructional time and maintain student supervision and safety, we do not call students out of class based on phone calls prior to your arrival. Please come directly to the main office in person to sign your child out. Kindly factor in a few extra minutes for office staff to contact the classroom and for your student to pack up.
Daily Lunch Guidelines
Send Lunches in the Morning: Please send all cold lunches directly to school in the morning. To prevent classroom interruptions and heavy office traffic during the day, we ask that parents refrain from dropping off lunches at the main office.
Ready-to-Eat Cold Lunches: Please pack items that do not require heating or boiling water (such as instant noodles or microwave meals). Ready-to-eat lunches allow students plenty of time to eat and enjoy lunch period without waiting in line for reheating.
No Pop/Soda: As a friendly reminder, pop and soda are not permitted at school.
Thank you for your cooperation in protecting instructional time and maintaining a secure, organized environment for our students.
