Ahoy Navigator Parents!

WE DID IT!! We made it through this unforgettable year. Thank you for your patience and flexibility with us this year as we learned how to "do school" in different ways. The year ended very well and I could not be more proud of our students, parents, teachers and staff!

A few reminders before I close of which you need to be aware:

1. Masks will be optional for students, staff, and parents,on the school grounds, beginning 6/2/21.

2. Next year, masks will be optional for students, staff, and parents.

3. REGISTRATION FOR THE 2021/2022 SCHOOL YEAR BEGINS JUNE 1! This is for ALL Students - new AND returning! Please take a few minutes to register your child on Tuesday!

4. The first day of school is AUGUST 19.

PTA is offereing something new for our parents - PRE PACKAGED SCHOOL SUPPLIES!! These supplies have been vetted by Negley teachers and contain EVERYTHING you child will need when school starts in the fall. See the PTA section below for more information.

I will take Parent Confidential forms through next weekend. They will be attached to this newsletter. Thank you to all the parents who have already completed those and sent them to me!

Any updates for the beginning of the school year will be posted on our Negley Facebook page. Check it periodically throughout the summer.

I hope that each of you has a restful summer break. Keep your child reading and practicing math facts throughout the summer! It truly WILL help them when they return in the fall.

I look forward to seeing my Navigators in August!

Mrs. McDaid's first grade class had an ice cream party on Thursday for having the most students present for the last 6 weeks of school!

This is how the district makes personnel decisions for our campus. That means the more people who register early ensures we keep our current teachers. AND if we need more teachers than allotted, I can hire for those earlier, rather than starting the year out with a long term sub!

If your family's living situation includes any of the following:

Doubled up with friends or relatives, because you cannot find or afford housing, or due to separation/divorce, etc... or if your family resides in a shelter, motel, campground, your preschool aged and school aged children have certain rights or protections under the McKinney-Vento Education Assistance Act. These rights include:

§ The right to attend school, no matter where you live or how long you have lived there. Your child must be given access to the same public education, including preschool education, provided to other children.

§ The right to continue attending the school last attended, if that is your choice.

§ The right to receive the same special programs and services as other students.

§ The right to receive transportation to school, depending upon the situation and location.

If you find those missing library books, please bring them to Negley by the end of next week! Our office staff will be available to collect books, devices, library book payment, etc.

Thanks for looking for those books and devices - don't forget the charging cords! You will be "charged" if you don't return the cord! Then YOU will be "charged" when you have to pay the bill.

Please remember that ANYTIME you come to school to join your child (other than just dropping off your child at the beginning of the day) you MUST check in at the front office and get your Raptor sticker. To receive a sticker, you must present a photo ID regardless if this is your first time or thousandth time to check in to the school. This is for student safety and for us to know who is on our campus at all times. Thank you for being nice to the front office staff as they enforce this safety measure.

This does not apply to evening activities - just the school day.
