Principal's Message
Happy New Year, and welcome to 2026! We hope you and your loved ones had a wonderful holiday season and are feeling refreshed and ready for the year ahead.
We are so excited to welcome our students back to school. A new year brings a fresh start, and we can’t wait to see their bright smiles, hear their laughter in our classrooms and hallways, and feel the positive energy they bring to our school community.
At Tehaleh Heights, our focus remains on nurturing curiosity, inspiring growth, and building a love for learning. We’re looking forward to all the progress our students will make this year—academically, socially, and personally. Every child has so much potential, and we are committed to supporting them as they take on new challenges, explore their interests, and achieve their goals.
As partners in your child’s education, your involvement truly makes a difference. Whether you’re attending school events, staying connected with classroom activities, or simply encouraging your child each day, your support helps create an environment where learning thrives.
Thank you for entrusting us with your children and for being an important part of our Tehaleh Heights community. Here’s to a year filled with growth, discovery, and celebration!

Ready for Recess
With the weather becoming a bit chillier and wetter this time of year, please make sure your student comes to school with a jacket that is appropriate for the weather. Students are welcome to leave a jacket, rain shell, gloves, etc. in their cubby so they don’t have to carry them back and forth each day.
We go outside even when it’s raining, cold and windy and sometimes rain begins while we are already outdoors. As you all know, our weather here can be unpredictable, so it’s best to be prepared for anything!
Please note that umbrellas are not allowed to be taken out at recess. Thank you for your help in keeping students comfortable and ready for outdoor play.
Purposefull People Trait of the Month
This month is all about Perseverance. One way to think about Perseverance is “pushing yourself through challenges and obstacles.” We all experience challenges in our lives. We all have moments when we feel like we can’t do it or that we want to give up on a big task. It is important to develop tools that help us work through those challenges in order to grow in those moments instead of giving up. How might you practice Perseverance as a family this month?
STEM Fair
This is a reminder about our upcoming STEM Fair and Art Show, a celebration of student creativity, problem-solving, and innovation.

Time: 10:00 AM until 2:00 PM
Location: Sumner High School, 1707 Main St, Sumner, WA 98390

The STEM Fair is a welcoming and inclusive experience for students at all stages of the learning process. Families will have the opportunity to view student STEM projects and engage in hands-on, STEM-related activities provided by district programs and community partners. Everyone is invited to attend, support students, and enjoy a fun, engaging experience that highlights the breadth of STEM learning Art work happening across our district.
