Mr. Cullen's Weekly Update
Keeping Our District Connected and Committed to Excellence

Week of October 12, 2026 - October 16, 2026
Elevate Every Learner
MTPS Community,
As we conclude another productive week across our district, the momentum within our school community continues to build. Everywhere you look, our amazing students and talented educators are actively engaging in learning, driven by a shared curiosity and a steadfast commitment to educational excellence.
A central element of our vision to “Elevate Every Learner” is ensuring that all students achieve their limitless potential. To support this goal, our classrooms are dynamic spaces where academic lessons are thoughtfully crafted by our dedicated staff to be engaging, active, and responsive. Throughout the week, students participated in whole-class shared experiences, targeted small-group opportunities, and focused independent activities. Within these collaborative learning environments, students regularly problem-solve, think critically, and apply standards-aligned skills under the guidance of our exceptional professionals.
In addition to our strong academic foundation, this week marked the return of our Parent Information Committee (PIC). We held our first session, which featured valuable dialogue and the exchange of wonderful ideas among parents and administrators. PIC serves as a powerful vehicle for collaboration, and we look forward to the productive sessions ahead as we work together to consistently advance our schools.
We also reintroduced Edcamp this week, a professional development model driven by educators, for educators. This participant-driven approach builds community, promotes purposeful engagement, and strongly reinforces who we are and what we stand for as a learning community.
I also wanted to take a moment to reinforce that the safety and security of our students and staff always remain our utmost priority. We are grateful for the work of our security team and look forward to the opportunity to hear Mr. Maguire, Director of Security, present at a Parent Academy for Continued Excellence session on Wednesday, November 18th, at 7:00 PM at HS North.
Thank you, as always, for your involvement and ongoing partnership as we work together to ensure every student unleashes their limitless potential.
Sincerely,
Kevin G. Cullen
Interim Superintendent
Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum, Instruction, & Special Education
