Mrs. Mulvanerty's Update
August 18, 2024

March 25, 2025
Hello SKS !
It's officially SPRING!
As the we all finally shake off winter (AMEN!) the days grow longer, flowers begin to bloom, and there’s a certain energy in the air. Spring doesn’t just bring warmer weather—it also sparks a feeling of renewal and possibility, often referred to as "spring fever."
Spring is also a new beginning! Students have a fresh new start with the beginning of the THIRD and LAST trimester of the year! As my dad would say, this is THE BIG PUSH towards finishing the year strong! Students can do this with a renewed commitment to learning, tackling a subject that has been challenging, or embracing new friendships. Adults, too, can take inspiration from the season by setting new goals, decluttering their minds and spaces, and approaching life with a sense of renewal and prayer.
Whether in school, at home, or in our personal lives, we can all take advantage of the momentum that spring brings. Here are a few ways to channel this seasonal boost:
Get Outside: Spend more time in nature, whether it's taking a walk, planting a garden, or simply enjoying fresh air.
Set New Goals: Just as the new year sparks resolutions, spring is a great time to set new intentions for academic, spiritual or personal growth.
Celebrate Growth: Reflect on how far your students have come! None of us is perfect -- but we are all learning and growing together. Acknowledge each others' accomplishments and celebrate them!
Happy Spring!

St. Katharine's Parish wants your Feedback!
Please complete the survey below!
Please complete the DMI survey! Spend just 10-15 minutes to reflect on how St. Katharine's supports your faith journey. The DMI is being offered from March 5 through April 13. This is your chance to let us know if St. Katharine's is meeting your spiritual needs!
Click here to take the survey!
You can also pick up a paper copy in the rectory and tables in church. Return completed forms to the baskets in the front and back of church.

Tuition and Financial Aid
Thanks to all who joined us this week for the tuition and financial aid meeting. If you missed it, don't worry! Here is the complete deck. During the meeting, we talked extensively about how you can redirect your PA tax liability to SKS to both be part of our new TUITIONCARE program and to support EITC scholarships. As Mr. Griffin asked at the end of the presentation: "Why would anyone NOT do it????" We agree! Please help us shout this out from the rooftops, and contact me with ANY questions!
Thank you!
Thanks to everyone who supported this week's DDD in honor of Mairead McInerney McAteer Legacy Scholarship at LUCY in Camden. LUCY Outreach was founded in 2010 by a fellow Saint Joseph's University graduate, Kristin Prinn. While the organization and its work are much broader than the mentioned scholarship, the legacy scholarship is in memory of another dear friend and fellow Hawk, Mairead McInerney McAteer.
Mairead was diagnosed with Triple Negative Breast Cancer in December 2022, and she passed away in February 2024. Here's a link to her story. She was the daughter of Irish immigrants, and St. Patrick's Day was always spent walking down Fifth Avenue in the NYC parade.

This Week's Highlights
Congratulations to our Irish Dancers! SKS was awarded the Father Kevin C. Trautner Award (Founded in 2008) for the Outstanding Religious Organization that displays their Irish Heritage. Sponsored by: Father Kevin Gallagher Awarded to the Saint Katharine of Siena Irish Dancers!!! Special thanks to Marianne Lauber and Lisa DiBello for their leadership with our dancers!
They may not have caught a leprechaun, but Kindergarten enjoyed the treats he left behind despite the footprints on their desks!
7th grade students give figurative language presentations -- the subject: their pets!
In case your students didn't figure it out, our teachers enjoyed an "Underground Spirit Week!" Anything but a cup day was a highlight...and here, pictured below, was band and jean jacket day. We have the most fun team!
