Welcome Back!! Welcome Back!!

I am excited to welcome our students back into the building on Tuesday! I hope everyone enjoyed a relaxing and fun Spring Break and is ready to get back into the swing of things and, most importantly, finish the year strong.

As we return, we are just a few days away from beginning our end-of-year assessments for students in grades K–5 starting on April 7th. Students will begin taking DIBELS and VALLSS assessments starting April 7th. In the weeks that follow, students in grades 3–5 will also participate in the Standards of Learning (SOL) assessments, which measure student progress on the skills and content learned throughout the year.

Our first SOL assessment will be the 5th Grade Writing SOL on Wednesday, April 22nd.

Parents, as we prepare for these important assessments, we truly appreciate your partnership and support. To help your child feel confident and ready, please:

  • Ensure your child is at school every day and arrives on time
  • Make sure your child gets a good night’s sleep each evening
  • Encourage a healthy breakfast each morning
  • Help maintain a positive mindset and encourage them to do their best

We are confident in our students and all they have accomplished this year. With your support, we know they will continue to succeed. Please see the calendar below for all upcoming SOL testing dates.

Parent Input Form Parent Input Form

As we begin planning for the upcoming school year, we will soon start the process of creating class placements for all students. Although many of our Patriots will be moving on to Anthony Burns next year, we will continue to support them by thoughtfully considering their placements.

We value your input and would love to hear more about the learning environment and teaching style that best supports your child. If you would like to share input, please complete the form by April 17th (one form per child). 2026-2027 Parent Input Form

I encourage you to share your child’s preferred learning style, strengths, and any factors that will help us create the best possible learning experience. Thank you for your support!

Dear Military-Connected Families,

April is the Month of the Military Child. During the month of April, we recognize and celebrate our military-connected students in a variety of ways. This year, we will also be hosting a special assembly to honor the sacrifices and unique experiences of students in military families. Our goal is to recognize and celebrate these extraordinary students and the important role they play in supporting their families and our community.

As part of this assembly, we would love to include photos of our military students with their active duty or retired military family member(s). Photos may be taken in uniform or civilian clothing.

If you would like your photo to be included in the assembly program, please email your photo along with your student’s name and grade level to donovanrl@staffordschools.net.

Thank you for allowing us to celebrate and honor your family’s service and sacrifice.
