Principal's Corner
Dear Hirsch Hawk Parents and Guardians,
Every day at school matters! As we continue building a strong start to the school year, I want to emphasize the important connection between consistent attendance and student achievement.
When students are at school every day and arrive on time, they have more opportunities to learn, practice new skills, participate in classroom discussions, and receive support from their teachers. Even a few missed days can add up quickly, creating gaps in learning that can make it harder for students to keep up. Our teachers are working hard to help every Hawk grow, but we need our students in their classrooms, ready to learn each day.
Our goal is for every student to maintain at least 95% attendance throughout the school year. Families can help by making school attendance a priority, scheduling appointments outside of the school day whenever possible, and ensuring students arrive on time each morning. If your child is experiencing challenges that are affecting regular attendance, please reach out to us so we can work together to provide support.
Strong attendance + strong instruction + strong family partnerships = stronger student achievement!
I also want to remind families that our Parent-Teacher Conference Day will be Wednesday, September 30, from 5:30–7:00 p.m. This is an important opportunity to meet with your child’s teacher, discuss academic progress, celebrate successes, and identify ways we can work together to support continued growth.
Thank you for partnering with us to make every day count. When our Hawks are present, engaged, and ready to learn, there is no limit to what they can accomplish!
With Hawk Pride,
Principal Patterson
