Winship Family News
January 2026
A Note from Mrs. Skattum
Winship Wildcat Family,
We hope you and your family had a restful and enjoyable holiday break. We are excited to welcome students back and begin the new year together! Thank you, as always, for your continued partnership. Your support is what makes Winship such a special place for our students and staff.
January is a busy and important month at Winship. Teachers will be reassessing students as a check-in to better understand their progress and needs. This assessment data helps guide instruction and determine appropriate supports or interventions when needed. During our early dismissal times, staff meet in grade-level and school-wide teams to review data, discuss student progress, problem-solve, and plan next steps. We are also looking forward to our January school-wide assembly, where the focus will be on empathy. Our students love coming together as a whole school, and they often ask when the next assembly will be!
Over the next several weeks, we will continue reviewing school-wide expectations, routines, and procedures. Classes are revisiting these during morning meetings, and we will reinforce them during our assembly as well. This month’s focus areas are the hallway and cafeteria/commons spaces.
Please don’t hesitate to reach out to the Winship office with any questions or concerns. We appreciate your ongoing support and partnership.
