As we move into the final stretch of the school year, there is still so much happening at West Minico! This week, our 8th graders participated in Reality Town and had a great experience simulating real-life responsibilities. Many students quickly discovered that money does not go quite as far as they thought it would! We appreciate the many community volunteers who helped make this meaningful experience possible for our students.

With just three weeks of school remaining, students are naturally becoming anxious and excited for summer break. We ask for your continued support in reminding your child that our expectations for behavior and respect at school remain in place through the very last day. Recently, we have seen an increase in inappropriate cafeteria behavior, including throwing food and making unnecessary messes. Students who choose to participate in these behaviors will be given the opportunity to help clean the lunchroom each day through the end of the school year.

Please continue to monitor your child’s grades and attendance closely. There will be no summer school offered this year for credit recovery related to failed classes or excessive absences. Students needing to recover credits may need to complete online coursework during the summer, could face retention, or may be referred to Minidoka Junior High, the district’s alternative junior high program. We want every student to finish the year strong and successfully move on to the next grade level.

Our ISAT scores have begun coming in, and we hope to have all results by the end of the week. We are incredibly proud of the growth our students have shown this year. Their hard work, combined with the support of families and staff, continues to show that we truly are Stronger Together — link by link.

Canvas is currently experiencing technical issues and is unavailable at this time. We understand this may create frustration for students and families trying to access assignments and grades. We will share more information and updates as we receive them at the beginning of the week. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Last Chance to Purchase a Yearbook

Our 2025–2026 yearbook has been sent to print, and we have purchased a limited number of additional copies for families. We currently have 30 yearbooks available, which will be sold on a first come, first serve basis.

If you would like to ensure your student receives a yearbook during the last week of school, we encourage you to purchase as soon as possible.

Yearbooks are $28 and can be purchased online through PaySchools or in the school office.

Don’t miss the opportunity to capture and remember this school year!

Every Minute Counts at West Minico Every Minute Counts at West Minico

The small, everyday moments in school add up to something much bigger. Each class period, each lesson, each interaction—these are the moments that shape learning, build confidence, and prepare students for the future.

When students miss school, they miss more than just assignments. They miss opportunities to grow, connect, and stay on track. As we approach the end of the year, every moment becomes even more valuable.

Thank you for helping your student be present, engaged, and ready to make the most of every moment.

Supplemental Levy - May 19, 2026

We are Minidoka

Our district’s mission is simple: provide every student with the resources, safety, and opportunities they need to succeed. To accomplish this, our schools rely on a combination of state funding and local support. The supplemental levy is an important part of maintaining strong academic programs, safe schools, and reliable services for students.
